    Hey,

Ok, i downloaded clockgen. And just for fun i was seening how high i could make it go before the screen wen ton with lines and you have to restart.(i made it to 2.2ghz. Seeing how i have a acer 5102wlmi which is only 1.6 i thought that was pretty cool. Anyways i went in to call of duty 2 to see how it would play. ANY WOW!!! it was so crazily fast for this laptop. It seemed as though it was a desktop computer. Anyways i tried that for maybe 10 minutes and exited right away and reset it back to my regular 1.6 etc. Now im here and just wondering $f that could fry my system or mess it. Also i was wondering if i set it to that only to play games for a bit would it be ok? One more if i set it to only say......1.8-1.9 and just left it would it be ok???

I have heard of people with this comp doing it up to 1.9 and being very happy with it....

    Thanks alot!

Ok, one last thing to bug you guys with... I put my turion 64 X2 1.6ghz up to 2ghz with clockgen and played cod2 for maybe 10-15 minutes to check what the heat was like. Notebook Hardware Control showed it as being around 61-66C, is this ok?? didnt want to leave it on any longer without knowing, or having someone who has done this before telling me what to do. :D

    Thanks

Yes, that temperature is fine. If it gets to something higher, like maybe 75 or more, and the notebook gets hot, and starts to perhaps crash, then I would think about bringing the frequency down a bit.

It is definantly a bad idea if you don't know what your doing(kind of like me). So ask questioins so you know what to do, and everything should work out.(once again, just like me)

If it doesn't display your ICS number automatically how do you know which one to select?

I tried guessing and then my CPU started making the weirdest (and loudest clinking noise) so I really don't feel like guessing again lol.

Well to find your PLL you need to take your laptop apart and look on the board which voids your warranty. All i did was spend 5 minutes on google and found the right one for my Acer 5102wlmi. :D
