First off thanks to everyone on this forum I was only able to overclock it with the advice here :)

and 2nd Idk if you guys want it but I figured id post what improvements I got out of it

    3d mark 06 score default, 594/496= 3232
    3d mark 06 score overclocked, 661/558= 3460
    3d mark 06 score overclocked higher, 702/603= 3929!
on a side note, it 702/603 is the max stable any higher on memory= artifacts/crash, any higher on core clock and it doesent help any(actually got lower sometimes) and crashes above 820's

And in-game performance, I used Wow, default i could run 1440x900, all settings on medium high(2 bar notchs below ultra) and got 30-34 fps,
now with overclocked.. I can put everything on ultra(except shadow quality its down 2 notchs) and get 60-67 fps,

COD 4 can go up 1 reso higher with reasonable fps(up from 1024x720)

How is the heat output on it overclocked?

3650 cant read temps directly it has no detector or w/e but the comp feels the same, not any hotter in any spots (speedfan has same cpu temp but Temp 1 is staying higher than it was before...not sure what temp 1 is...about 7 degrees hotter 57-64)

Not bad. I can only get my chip up to 650/560 before I get artifacting.

But at those speeds I get 4100 in 3dm06

Not to mention that raduque has an Intel CPU vs Felix's AMD.

I'm relatively sure the HD3650 in the Studio line is DDR2. My CPU is the only thing that lets me get a slightly higher score than you.

I was impressed by your clock speeds, and disappointed mine can't clock that high.

Mine is DDR2 and makes 3900 at default (600e/500m) and 4688 @ 777e/625m 1.2v. At default voltage (1.1v) it goes to 700e/600m stable and it makes 4328 3D Marks.

When I overclock my HD3650 I tend overclock to 720mhz core and 620 mhz memory and I got a healthy 4707 3dmarks :). BTW its DDR2 :p. No heat issues max temps 75C, no artifacts, no problems :). Also I ran the test at 1366 X 768 wich gives a lower result than the "normal" resolution 1280X1024

^^ Your cpu score is 750 better than mine(1500) are gpu score was basically exactly the same

Turns out the gpu wasent stable, it was causing random lag spikes, and eventually didint let me start up the comp anymore, so I uninstalled catalyst 8.5(only one which lets you overclock ati 3650's) and installed 9.8, and everything worked again

On an interesting side note I never tested 9.8 in-game before as I was trying to overclock and only 8.5 let me, anyways long story short the gpu with 9.8 plays better than an overclocked 8.5 catalyst(it runs Cod 4 at max settings,1440x900- with the exception of anti alia*) compared to 1280 on overclocked with some settings on low/off... and the fps is much more stable(its like this in all games btw not just cod 4)

Also weird is even though the gpu with 9.8 is better in all games it gets a lower 3d mark score, 3600 compared to 3750-3950 overclocked(3250 with stock speed 8.5)

Basically im reccomending if you have an ati 3650, just use catalyst 9.8 you dont overclock and it gives much better performance and stability from my experience anyways

I'm using 9.8 and overclocking using the GPUTool from techPowerUp! and it works great to overclock. I just can't overclock as much as I like.

I tried it didint work for me, you sure its doing it? All sensors say my clock is staying the same, I can move the bar and hit apply just dont think it does anything(it lets me hit apply for 3000/2900)
