I am getting 3540 points in 3dmark2006.
Strange, looked att the score for toshiba P100 with geforce 7900GS and it scored 6214 in 3dmark05 witch is lower then i get with oc'ed(6804) but in 3dmark06 toshiba gets 3534 witch is almost the same as my OC'ed.

Maybe that is because the 7900GS is a newer card and supports more fuctions/optimalizations. But 3dmark doesnt say much about performance, it can vary very much. That's a great score by the way.

EDIT: I just remembered one thing. Defragmantation can also help higher your score. A forum member once scored 400 points in 3dmark05 more because he had defragged his harddisk. Like I always say: formatting + newest drivers + defragging = very high score -
Do anyone know any other programm to overclock ati mobile X1800 with? powerstrip have a limit of 530Mhz for GPU.
-
I don't no how you guys doing it but a can't overclock my card. OC in ATT from Omega drivers based on Catalyst 6.9 is for nothing if i'm starting games (and, as it was said there is no possibility to oc memory in ATT). PowerStrip3.61 shows me 3.75 Mhz GPU frequency and N/A Memory
. Any ideas?
-
did you try powerstrip 2.7?
-
as far as i know, Powerstrip doesnt have a limit. You, just double click on the little pictures under each of the sliders. Then input a higher percentage for the max slider value.
Now heres a funny thing. With the latest FSC drivers, the Core is about 398 and Mem 468 or something. And now when im running the Catalyst mobility 6.9 the clocks say Core 398 Mem 252. But everything seems to run normally????
what the?
I dontreally understand that? anyone else? -
Ok. I've tried later version of PS (don't remember which) and i could overclock. Due oc'ing i've got +4-5 fps in Oblivion. But after i've returned to default frequencies Oblivion performance left as it was, but performance in NFS:MW decreased by ~10 fps. I had to reinstall drivers to back performance. Stupid, huh. So, no oc'ing for me for now.

Anyone else having troubles with powerplay and overclocking ? In that case anyone found out of anything to fix it ??
Still missing a fix for that one and havent been able to find oneDead tired of having to restart the comp, every time ill have to swich to battery from AC...
Im missing some points in 3d marks... Getting 5721 in 3d mark 05 and 3006 in 3d mark 06 with standart clocks -
Your score looks OK for standard clock speed of FSC.
-
3D Mark scores may also differ a bit with different driver versions. It's only synthetic benchmark and therefore is not for measuring the real 3D berformance. I get 5670 in 05 and 2980 in 06. Those are propably near enough the scores what they should be with stock clocks and Catalyst 6.9.
-
What are your clock speeds as set in the Bios?? When i check mine through ATT. Mine says:
-GPU 392
-MEM 252
What do you boys have? cause thats pretty low especially the mem.
If anyone is running later drivers than the FSC stock could you post you clock speeds for me? In 3d gaming situations. An easy way is with the osd in ATT. -
I overclocked mine to 450 500 and everything works fine. I replaced the cooling silicon from the stock one to artic silver that lows the temperature for about 5ºC. -
Thats a good overclock tere Pedrofan. I suppose if you are clocking the core higher, you would need to have a proper thermal interface. By the way, what is the temperature the core reads. For some stupid reason, it doesn't let me pick up mine.

Have anyone tried the new Ati Tray Tools? It should have better support for overclocking, no resetting anymore. There's also new release of Catalyst, which finally includes the Chuck patch for Oblivion gamers.
