I use extreme turbomode for this laptop and does the turbo mode overclock the GPU too? I noticed that it OCs the cpu by 2Ghz. My other question is can i overclock the cpu and gpu while using turbomode? Like if i somehow overclock my cpu to 2.3 Ghz and i use the turbomode, will it overclock to 2.5? And what should i use to OC my 9800m GS and what should i overclock it to? Im thinking of OCing because Shattered Horizon runs really really choppy sometimes on this lappy even on low settings.

Asus Direct Console only effects the CPU. To change GPU clocks you need something like RivaTuner or nVidia System Tools.

If you want to overclock your CPU more than what DC provides, try using SetFSB. It takes a bit longer to tweak, but it's more powerful.

As for GPU, OC as high as you want provided temperatures don't go out of control.

Direct console only overclocks the CPU as Forge said and it can only overclock a maximum amount of about 10%, for my P8400 2.26Ghz, "turbo extreme" mode boosts it to 2.49Ghz, in your case, it should be around 2.36Ghz. For a better overclock, you gotta go with setfsb, I set SetFSB as a startup program in the task scheduler and it will automatically overclock the CPU to 2.79Ghz so I don't have to open up setfsb and set up values every time I start up windows.

Another thing to note, Rivatuner doesn't play well with 9800M gs as it doesn't detect its highest clock level, so it's not an option for overclocking. Nvidia system tools work.

So my questions is in your case after you use setfsb to OC your cpu to 2.79 ghz will enabling turbo extreme mode overclock it furthermore?

No, it will not. What "turbo extreme/turbo" does is essentially the same as increasing the FSB in setFSB, if you OC the CPU to 2.79 ghz via setFSB, then enable turbo extreme, you are going back to 2.49 ghz(for p8400).

You can save the hassle of manually OC everytime by setting up a task in task scheduler in controle panel, there you can adjust how much you want to OC, whether to make the GUI of setFSB invisible, etc.

setfsb isn't free anymore? I tried downloading from 3 different websites and they all ask me for the activation key and says that this is a shareware and I can't overclock it.

What is the max safe temp for the G50vt? I OCed my cpu to 2.45Ghz and it almost hits 80 degrees celcius after running Orthos Prime for 20m. Also is it normal for my gpu temp to go up when running Orthos? Its going up with the cpu and its hitting around 70 degrees celcius. So what are the safe temps?

Ouch, that's not pretty. Safe temp for G50vt is no different than any other notebooks, GPU<90 c/CPU<70 c. It's normal that GPU temp rises when running orthos because the GPU and CPU share the same system fan. If you have a cooler running CPU, then you will have a cooler GPU as well. With my p8400 OCed to 2.79 ghz and 9800M GS at stock, CPU never go higher than 52 c and GPU peaks at 83 C under heavy stress.

I have a modded backpanel and cooler running under the notebook though, I also have replaced the thermal paste for the CPU. If you want to run a higher OC, you might want to mod your backpanel as well. Here are some examples to show you a rough idea what can be done to the backpanel to lower the overall temp: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/411871-asus-g51-cooling-mod.html Note it's not just for G51, but also G50 as they have exactly the same internal design, CPU/GPU placement.
