Hey guys!![]()
UPDATE : OC'd 750/870 and got P1360 in 3DMark 11 and P4514 in Vantage! No pink screen or artifacts while playing or benching, but got pinkscreen in Furmark

----------------
Just got my ASUS back, and I thought about OC'ing it. And I did. ( FINALLY!)
So, now, I have OC'd it from 650/800 to 749/867. It is stable without crashes or artifacts. ( can't go to 900, otherwise = artifacts ).
But, when I run Furmark, as soon as it reaches 72C, it crashes. When I play games, like BC2, I never ever crash, but have 72C as max temp. So, my question is : what does it mean? Does it mean it is unstable?
Also, I got P1363 opposed to P1231 before. I will try to OC to 770/880 ( I want to maintain at least 15MHz of space between stable and artifacts, just in case), and will see if the increase is even higher.
Thanks!
EDIT : Tried with 725/880 = STABLE!No artifacts, no Furmark crashing, no problems

Got P1341 in 3DMark 11, less than 750/860 ( P1363 ).

Since Furmark pushes the system far beyond what games normally do, I'd assume that there are some stability issues. I'd reduce the OC and try again.

The games run OK with no problems...
Should I try lowering the core or the memory? I will try these :
700/880
750/850
700/850
( stock are 650/800 ).
Thanks! -
Yes, try and post the results.

If gaming doesn't do it, then just game until you have a problem.
Furmark can push my GPU to 100C, but games top out at 85C. My solution was to ignore Furmark. -
On furmark, from 740+ MHz on core = pink screen. Tho no crash whatsoever in gaming.
Tried 730/870 = no problem and a nice increase.
Will try 750/870 ( I don't want 880 because it puts my bandwisth at 28GB/s, and it seems I get artifacting from 28+GB/s, tho I don't have at 880 ), and post results. -
Also, do I need to have some sort of core/memory ratio? Like 100MHz difference or something?
Tried runningg 3DMark 11 no OC = P1223 Result
A 13 point increase over the last drivers ( using 11.4 atm, was 11.2 ). -
It's gonna make minimal impact in games.
I used to be an avid OCer, like you. But then after a while I noticed 'twas all a waste of time. Just grab a safe relatively high overclock, stick with it. -

BTW, why is Furmark so "heavy"? It's just a furry donut in the screen? Why isn't Metro 2033 heavier? Why does Furmark stresses and heats the GPU so much?
