My laptop currently is an HP Pavillion DV6000.

    OS: Win 7 32-bit
    CPU: Intel T7200 2.0GHz
GPU: Geforce Go 7400 (Official Nvidia Driver version 179.42)

I am using RivaTuner to overclock my GPU and tried to mimic the clock speeds of OP in this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...769-geforce-go-7400-overclocking-success.html

But I have noticed when I try to copy the OPs clock speed from that thread my Core Clock would be about 513MHz, but the issue is that my Mem. Clock Speed would be only at 405MHz. I tried bumping the Mem. Clock Speed higher than 817MHz and it did increase up until 440MHz-450MHz before it dropped back down to around 200MHz when I pushed it a little further. I tried restarting to apply the clock speeds at Startup, but nothing.

I then uninstalled and cleaned my Display drivers in safe mode, installed 186.82 (with correct .ini file), made another attempt, but this time it fluctuates between 100MHz-CoreClock/135MHz-MemClock to my initial results of 517MHz and 405MHz.

I was wondering what drivers have been compatible and successful with overclocking the GeForce Go 7400 using RivaTuner? Or if the issue is not the drivers then what it could possibly be?

I understand when overclocking results may differ, but this is way off.
    Thanks.

What game are you trying to play? The Go7400 is a pretty old card now and it's pretty weak compared to even the most entry level GPU released today.

Right now mainly League of Legends, Oblivion, Half-Life 2. I know it's old and really inferior, but at the moment I don't and won't have enough cash for a new system anytime soon so I'm just trying to make the best of what I have.

    i have a dell d820 with a 7400go and a t 7200 and what i use for overclocking is msi afterburner, and i would get a driver from laptopvideo2go.com, specifically 285.79.
once you have downloaded both, run the 285.79 file, it should extract and then once it has it will be in a folder on you main hard drive. find the original inf file, it should be in this folder(C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\285.79\WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Driver) and replace it with the downloaded modded inf. then go up one folder and double click "setup.exe" and it should install. good luck :)

and it should run those titles pretty good. at one point i had bfbc2 running at about 20-25 fps, but when they patched it to run at resolutions above and including 1024x768 it was pretty much toast.

I tried the 285.79, but it says it couldn't find any hardware compatible. I also tried the 259.47 one that came up, but I had the same issue where the clock speeds would go back and forth between 100-500. At the moment the official Nvidia driver 179.48 seems the most consistent as it doesn't fluctuate.

you need to replace the inf with the modded one, so it will be compatible. theres probably a guide on the site, or you could try to interpret my loose instructions from my previous post.

If you overclock for a few more moments, you might not have anything at all
These models were plagued with graphics failures.

At least, if this happened and you wanted to get a new motherboard, you could get one with an 8400m or something.

lol no you will just get another 7400 i forgot to mention that i had the mobo on mine replaced 4 times, and that was before any overclocking.
