    Hi, i just tried overclocking my graphics card slightly. I was wondering on how much should i overclock it to so that i can get the max performance out of it.

    everycard is different u have to test to find a balance between stability and performance

    Here are some OC i have seen (NOT mine):
    core / memory / shader
    700 / 600 ddr2 / 1650
    675 / 1050 ddr3 / 1650
    625 / 800 ddr3 / 1550
    656 / 961 ddr3 / 1640
    625 / 950 ddr3 / 1550

    Please note that the dv5t's 9600m gt uses ddr2 memory.

    well i already have seen that link u gave. I was wondering if i could anyway reduce the heat given off from the laptop. It seems that my laptop like the dv5t has some heat problem.

    i can overclock mine to 685/1700/572, highest stable for me and 82c, but thats mine and it might not be stable and artifact on yours

    does overclocking really reduce the lifespan of the hardware.... :confused:
    i feel like overclocking as well........

    You have a great graphic card dude.
    You can try overclock it a little. A little of overclock won't reduce the lifespan of the hardware because it just raise the maximum temperature by 1-5C or sometime and some machine don't even raise 1C.
    I have my graphic card overclock 5% on core clock and shader clock, and 7.5% on memory clock.
    Below 10% you are very very safe.
