Hi, i just tried overclocking my graphics card slightly. I was wondering on how much should i overclock it to so that i can get the max performance out of it.

everycard is different u have to test to find a balance between stability and performance

Here are some OC i have seen (NOT mine):
core / memory / shader
700 / 600 ddr2 / 1650
675 / 1050 ddr3 / 1650
625 / 800 ddr3 / 1550
656 / 961 ddr3 / 1640
625 / 950 ddr3 / 1550
Please note that the dv5t's 9600m gt uses ddr2 memory.
This thread should help:

There's also a big OC thread somewhere in the HP section. -

well i already have seen that link u gave. I was wondering if i could anyway reduce the heat given off from the laptop. It seems that my laptop like the dv5t has some heat problem.

there's a cooling guide, by Chaz. There's another one floating around somewhere, but I couldn't find it. -
Thanks for the info

i can overclock mine to 685/1700/572, highest stable for me and 82c, but thats mine and it might not be stable and artifact on yours

does overclocking really reduce the lifespan of the hardware....
i feel like overclocking as well........ -
You can try overclock it a little. A little of overclock won't reduce the lifespan of the hardware because it just raise the maximum temperature by 1-5C or sometime and some machine don't even raise 1C.
I have my graphic card overclock 5% on core clock and shader clock, and 7.5% on memory clock.
Below 10% you are very very safe.
