Hello, What is the best method of overclocking this card (7600go 128mb) I know with ati I used ATi tools or whatever it was called. I have never overclocked an nvidia.... Also, this laptop makes me use drivers from toshiba laptop only if that makes any difference.

Download the Nvidia drivers from laptopvideo2go and make sure to get the coolbits regestry hack too. It should enable OC in the standard Nvidia controls.

IGNORE the coolbits crap. I have a toshiba with the 7600 and i used Riva Tuner to overclock it. Its the best overclocking software and FAR safer than the coolbits to use.

I have the 7800, would Riva Tuner also be alright with that?

You can ask it to auto detect optimal settings. I'd start from there.

Overclocking is different for every video card. Heres the safest way to OC:

Start by raising your core clock by 5-10 mhz at a time then running 3DMark05. Repeat raising it by 5-10 mhz and then running 3DMark untill you begin to see artifacts (strange screen distortions). Once you reach that point, back off by 15-20 mhz.

Once you're done that, you can begin raising the memory clock in the same way and running 3DMark after each increase. Again, once you see artifacts, back off by 15-20mhz.

sorry, I dont know how to..sorry for being such an annoyance I will try to though. Do I jst extract it into my graphics driver folder? I did that and then I clicked on the registration entries and it was entered into "the registry" or something.

Just double click on it and it should ask you if you're sure you want to apply it. After you click ok or yes or whatever, it'll be applied.

The option to overclock is inside the Nvidia control pannel. I dont remember where exactly. I'm not at my Nvidia machine.

And the laptopvideo2go drivers will help your alienware.

the strange thing with my laptop is that i can't monitor my gpu temps. In rivatuner the Hardware monitoring program says my core temperature is -145 Celcius (yes it's celcius!)

thats where I thought it was but I cannot find it on the driver i currently have or on any of the new drivers for that matter. Should i just downgrade to a driver I know how to work? Sorry very much for being a neusence (spelling?). Or if anyone out there knows where exactly it is on one of the newer drivers it would be quite helpful.
