I know i wont get big results overclocking an integrated card, but I wanted to ask some questions from experienced laptop users.

To note my 9400mg runs on dd3 memory so as stated by nvidia should run about 30% faster/better than the same card on ddr2.

anyway these are the stock clock speeds:

    graphics: 450
    memory: 1075
    processor:1100

This is what I overclocked it to:
    graphics: 600
    memory: 1075
    processor: 1200

My question is: which one of the clock should i overclock more, overclocking which one will give me better results???? will overclocking the memory clock do any good? since im guessing its using my dd3 ram speed which is 1076mhz, therefore is it possible to overclock the memory clock ever more?

Im not a pro at this and would like to get somewhat good results.
My gpu is copper modded so my temps are pretty good.
on my current setup after running 3dmar05 it doesnt get hotter than 65C(gpu) processor gets to 70C
and just browsing the web its at about 45-49C(gpu)

    Thanx for reading

Hmm..My card is a gen behind yours but my temps are lower than your OC temps even when i OC.Try using differnet drivers you should be able to get twice the performance that i could only dream :p of since your card had DDR3.Try usingthe nvidia system toold for overclocking and the ati tool for artifact hunting.

Nvidia System Tools(current version 6.05 and so called nTune) is the best OCing tool for Nvidia GPUs.
Why you mention these clock strangely.
    It suppose to be:
    Graphic(you stated) = Core Clock
    Memory = Memory Clock
    Processor(you stated) = Shader Clock
The ratio for Core:Shader is 1:2.5 for 9-series Nvidia Geforce and newer release.
While the ration of Core:Shader is 1:2 for 8-series Nvidia Geforce and older cards.
So, you do not need to do something like this(example):
    Core:600MHz with Shader:1200MHz
You can have Core:600MHz with Shader 1400MHz or 1500MHz(not necessary 2x of Core).
As for the Memory Clock, be careful on it. It is heating up faster than the other Clocks. Moreover, it doesn't have any temperature sensor. So, we don't know how much does it heat-up and goes crazy on OCing it. Then, end-up a dead card.

I am using the latest nvidia drivers performance tools. thats how i overlclocked my card. in performance tools it doesnt show shader it shows processor clock i guess its shader. I really dont understand the ratio thing, but i think your on the right path to helping me... how should i configure my numbers.

Thats what i used. latest nvidia drivers and nvidia tools to overclock. but what do you mean by use ati tool for artifact hunting, whats that?

artifact hunting is to search for errors(or rather screen glitches) caused by higher clocks...

but , i had to say 1075 for memory clock is somewhat high...
    mine only 900

Yep! Artifacting means errors occurs with your OCed GPU.
You can see some strange boxes, colours or strange elements on games or stressing the GPU.

    As for the Ratio thingy,
    Core:Shader = 1:2.5
If Core is 100 then, the Shader should adjust to 250.
If Core is 200 then, the Shader should adjust to 625.

    Core:Shader = 1:2
If Core is 100, then, Shader will be 200.
If Core is 500, then, Shader will be 1000.

    9-series(Mobile) Nvidia Geforce come with Core:Shader = 1:2.5
So, when you adjust the OC, you can use this 1:2.5 Core-Shader theory.
I will suggest 1:2.2-2.4 instead of exactly 1:2.5 due to the ORIGINAL of 9400M G is 1:2 by Nvidia. Just that, the 9-series Nvidia Geforce supports 1:2.5 and have models such as 9600M GS and 9600M GT.
My 9500M GS was originally 1:2 Core-Shader ratio. However, I OCed it to 1:2.3(something like that). Don't have any problem with it.

are you using the same card too? maybe you got ddr2 memory. I never touched the memory clock that number is stock. so will artifact hunting increase my fps or benchmarks in that matter? would you recomed clock some clock numbers?

I noticed if i put processor clock (i guess thats shader clock (stock 1100) to 1300 my video driver fails, so now i have it under 1250, is there a point of me having my graphics clock on 600? should i lower it to 500? I dont want to increase the numbers that make no difference

Thanx to everyone who answered this thread. Now my clocks are at 500/1075/1250
ATItool didnt find any artifacts. :)

This thread is resolved, can close now
