I ordered a macbookpro with the ATI Radeon X1600, and I heard that it is underclocked. I wanted to overclock it a little bit to get the maximum performance without endangering any components of my laptop. How would I do this?
Thanks

There is always a certain risk involved with overclocking. If you're using Windows XP, download ATI Tray Tools, it will allow you to overclock. Check out this thread for X1600 overclocking:

Just a reminder that ATI tray tools is NOT supported by vista IIRC and could well NOT be ever.

I wouldn't overclock the MBP without some sort of additional cooling if I were you. My friend has a MBP with an X1600 and it gets really hot even without doing anything graphically intensive. I don't know how to go about overclocking on the Mac though.

Definitely heed the warnings and understand the risks involved before you start playing with overclocking.
And go slow and test often. Good luck.
