Is there way to have presets for overclocking and underclocking? Or is it the only way to clock is by manueling going in and changing the settings? Also how do I get the temp gauge back for my gpu? Thanks for the help in advance!

    Hi,
There are presets for Ati GPU in Notebook hardware control and Ati tray tools. So if you start a game it will overclock the card, or underclock if you are in windows. NHC can do it form my ati x700 from 95/95 up to 400/400. 95/95 is better than powerplay. I guess something similar exists for Nvidia.

CPU on the other hand has its own multipliers that "underclock" the core. So in case of my Pentium M - it can work and be locked to 800 MHz when idle or 1860 MHz at 100% load. If you are thinking of overclocking the FSB and thus memory and CPU - it is more complicated. First you have to have a software that can do it (Clockgen or that other one) and then be able to change the FSB speed. If you can do it (and it is actuall easy if the software works with your mobo), then I think that there is no way of automatically change the FSB speed during work. If you can overclock beware of the heat.

    I hope that helped,

    Ivan
