I got a new laptop (Dell m1530) and got the 178.13 drivers from laptopvideo2go, but I just can't seem to overclock...

When I use ntune, I increase the overclock settings, but when I click "apply", they just go back to factory settings. The 8600GT uses DDR3 by the way...

Also, when I use rivatuner, it seems to make no difference. I could put the clock speeds at maximum or minimum, and Crysis will not have any differences in FPS, meaning the program is not working correctly.

I read up somewhere that earlier drivers let you overclock... But is it even feasible to downgrade drivers for this???

    that doesnt make sense.

Try older drivers since those ones might not work for you. Atleast of the 177x drivers will work.
