Considering the dell cards won't work themselves it could be bad to use a dell VBIOS, why not send it over to Svl7 to get it unlocked, i'm sure he'll do it for the price of a beer ;)

Is this a safe overclock? will it not reduce the GPU's life overtime if I keep it at that clocks?? and is 75 degree for GPU under load? is it safe? sorry noob question just worried if it can last long

75*C isn't a bad temperature, Some other cards usually run fine at that temp.

will it not hurt the GPU card? isn't 75 a little too hot?

75C in incredibly cool for an enthusiast GPU under load. You shouldn't even blink unless it hits 90C, tbh.

I think I'll just overclock my GPU if I really need to squeeze more performance when it comes to games... but I don't think it needs to be overclocked when I run editing softwares like Adibe After Effects and Premiere right?

How does this result affects actual gaming??? what FPS before and after are you getting? just wondering if it's worth the overclock or not...

This isn't true. The 675mx has considerably less CUDA cores than the 680m. The 675mx has 960 as compared to the 1344 in the 680m.

You'll need to bump the core clock to 1005.9MHz (+406MHz) just to catch up a GTX 680M :D

If you didn't pay for a 680m, why are you expecting 680m performance?

The 675mx is a fairly impressive GPU at stock and with a moderate overclock is already more powerful than mid-enthusiast desktops (i5/560ti) at stock. That's pretty decent for the price you are paying with that much portability.

I like seeing what my hardware can do, but the overclocks you are talking are the domain of crazy people who probably should have had the money to buy a 680m to start with. :)

I have a 675mx in my new sager. Everything is stock except for IC thermal compound. For kicks, I was running a blu-ray rip of TKNR on my 42in tv while playing Metro 2033 at ultra settings with aliasing, etc turned down 1 notch from the top. FRAPS showed i was getting a very playable 25-30fps (higher when i stopped screwing around with the movie) I'd love to know more about overclocking to see what the card can really do, but imho it's ridiculous as is for the price.

Exactly. Overclock is never a guarantee, and if you NEED that faster clock then you should buy the GPU that meets that speed and gain whatever extra you can in OC. I usually OC just to test the limits, then will tune to best OC for temperature and noise. Frequently I can get 20% OC without any sacrifice in temp or fan noise, so it's just a bonus. Not only that I undervolt if at all possible. Like my GT 650m in my little Clevo, I am running undervolted, but overclocked by 20%, and running cooler because of the undervolt. :)

please share the vbios with me !thank you very much.

The movie is more about CPU than GPU. Perhaps you need a faster CPU to manage that kind of multitasking.

Yeah you would need a 3740qm pushed to 3.9ghz or above to really make a difference in that situation.

So I overclocked the 670mx in MSI Afterburner (+70 Core, +370 Memory) which got me a 4000 graphics score in 3DMark11 (about the same score as the 675mx according to notebookcheck). Does this mean that my overclocked 670mx should get about the same fps in videogames as a stock 675mx?

Also I read that overclocking GPUs will reduce the life of it... but my overclocked 670mx has never gone over 68 degrees under load (there was no temperature difference after overclocking), so in what way does overclocking reduce the life of the GPU?

Old thread I know but I am hoping one of you can help me. For some reason the core clock slider has no effect on my actual clock speeds. The memory clocks will change depending on what I've set them at but the core stays at 653 the whole time. Has anyone experienced this?

That a problem I ran into with the bios on newer driver versions. I went ahead and flashed a new bios and it work fine. For the record I used the one off Tech Inferno and I got +460 core with not artifacts and running at 80c.
