    RAM doesn't make much difference in 3dmark score.

    Hello from Germany!

    skipp3r which program you use for overclocking? I have tried with the newest riva tuner version and every time if I apply the settings it jumps back to default settings :(

    My driver version is 174.93.

    I hope you can help me.

    Whenever that happens to me, reinstalling the driver fixes the problem.

    make sure you have drivers

    control panel -> add/remove programs -> uninstall nVidia driver

    restart in safe mode -> run driver cleaner pro

    restart -> install new drivers

    restart

    Awesome!!! The new driver (177.79) has corrected the fan, and it now adjusts with the GPU temp. and not just the CPU temp. So now my GPU is kept at 90C or below at max OC and I got 60 extra 3DMarks - F*ckin' sweet! This was exactly what I was waiting for.

    Hi all,

    hey mcurran, could you please tell me the process you've followed to oc your gpu??

    I cannot OC my new 9600m GT (ACER 5930G) no matter the driver or the app I use to try it.

    Cheers.

    Is overclocking really adviseable on Laptops? don't they really stress your battery and the laptop it's self?

    The added battery stress is minimal. My laptop will probably lose a year of life, but its only a year old to begin with and I'm upgrading in 2 years anyway, so whatever. Mine doesn't get above 96C when OC'd so I should be fine.

    Minimal = losing a year? Far from minimal if you ask me lol!

    I'm not sure of the clock speeds of my 9600M GT, if it's decent I'll leave it alone, I don't think I'll go take any big risks with my new £1k laptop! :p
