I tried overclocking my x200m with powerstrip.

    At the stock 378MHz i get a 3dmark05 score of 515.
    At a rather overclocked 459MHz I get a 3dmark05 score of 568.

There's a slight performance increase in games but nothing groundbreaking.

My question is, will an overclock like this affect temperatures and durability? Does anyone have experience overclocking this IGP? I'm using the latest omega drivers.

    Thanks!

I have overclocked my radeon 9100 IGP before, but for the performance increase I nearly rendered myself sterile (P4 @3GHz + OC IGP = bad idea). Better save overclocking for more capable hardware, if you ask me.

Overclocking such a low end videocard isnt a good idea in my opinion. Instead, shut down all running programs when playing games, defrag your harddrive couple of times, set your Virtual memory to maximum (4095-4096). I think those settings will have more impact then just overclocking a few MHz.

As stated, it is not really worth it to overclock that card, it's taking an unnecssary risk. Even if the overclock managed a 10-15% performance increase, the performance of the X200M is so low to begin with that it would not be very noticable. A lot of performance comes from the RAM, and since the X200M has no dedicated RAM, then it's pretty much going to stay at the same performance level it is currently at.
