Is there any chance I can run this game? I have a P170EM with an 7970M with i7-3630QM 2.5ghz and 8G RAM
Would I also be able to run Wolfenstein New Blood despite not being able to run The New Order
Thanks!

Perhaps Medium-High settings with post-processing.
Someone on here was running it with a 680M. Forgot who... Sorry.Last edited: Jun 6, 2015 -
Why not? 7970M is still quite an able videocard, so with some tweaking in graphical options it should be smooth.

I had a 7970M+ 3940XM and I ran the New Order quite well.. new Blood is quite similar graphics wise so you should be fine.. I was running on 1080p on High with about 30-40fps...

7970m neverending story:
Almost ultra 30+fps and all on high is about 40~ fps. -
Madness. Pure madness you have posted.

Caught me.
Honestly, I don't remember why I wrote that, but I was probably referring to 60 FPS.
I saw a 680M handle it over 30 FPS. Just can't remember who, lol.Last edited: Jun 2, 2015 -
As much as I'd like to upgrade to something more powerful (though I can't), the 7970M is still proving more than capable for my gaming needs and I'm still very happy with it. Visual fidelity plays a larger role in my enjoyment than higher frame count (racing games aside), and as much as I'd like a constant 60 frames to coincide with maximum graphical settings, 30+ frames is good enough for me.
That said, it is great seeing the 7970M running this game so well. I'm still holding off buying the game until my summer classes end, and it gets more difficult by the day.Last edited: Jun 2, 2015hfm likes this. -
Unfortunately, youtube reduces a little bit the quality of the recordings, so here the original recording.
392mb, MKV format. The fps-counter is more visible. -
A little bit!? Are you kidding me? A LOT! I hate YouTube for this. Although at 1080p you can see it fine. But this is why I like FRAPS when doing gameplay videos, although you can't view the other stats like CPU and GPU temps and utilization, because RivaTuner and FRAPS don't get along too well. Actually it's games that don't like two hooks.
Wish you could configure Afterburner/RivaTuner to change font size and location of FPS independently. -
I would doubt you can run ultra and have smooth gameplay, I have a GTX Titan X overclocked with custom 1.23v 475w BIOS and only getting 60-120fps (mostly stays 70).
-
Only the special "nvidia option" was off. On video you can see that "almost" (Shadows and view dist. High) ultra run above 30 FPS, for me it'll be smooth for you not. If we talk about CS:GO then i agree that 60+FPS is "must have" but not in Witcher
I just checked how 7970m runs on ultra settings(only nvidia hairworks off) and performance is poor 23-29 fps with 25 for most of the time.Last edited: Jun 3, 2015 -

What? I played TNO on my G73jh. ...only 1600x900, but I had a lot less to work with. [i7 720qm/5870m]

I can maintain ~35 fps minimum with my oc'd 680M at 1080p.
Graphics settings: Everything on High, except Foliage Visibility and Shadows at Medium. Hairworks off.
Post-processing settings: Everything on, except AA and SSAO instead of HBAO+ -
Oh man, I remember that part. It was a little bit of a PITA, I died a few times on that bridge.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Maybe it's time for you to give up on gaming, old man...

Never... maybe it's my choice of gaming controller.
