All available on Steam for quick and easy gaming. -
FEAR, Age of Empires 3, Command and Conquer 3 (highly recommended), Half-Life 2 Episodic releases, Call of Duty 2 or 3 (?), Splinter Cell series.
-
Kane and Lynch was horrible. I would say Oblivion GOTY, Call of Duty 2 (amazing story), UT3, Orange Box, and Bioshock.
-
Yeah, heard so many bad things about Kane and Lynch. And the whole thing about the Gamespot reviewer getting fired because he criticized the game... Anyways, get the Orange Box, C&C 3, World in Conflict, Age of Empires 3, and GRAW2.
-
No one recommended The Witcher?
-
BioShock...
-
Duke Nukem 3D
Doom II
Sim Tower
Sim Copter
Need For Speed 1
Phantasmagoria
Jane's USAF '97 -
Oblivion GOTY is a must (on 1280res you can play it with everything max)....Age of Empires 3 is rather good and fun. Whenever Ass ass Creed comes out, it should be a good time killer.

OrangeBox is a must get,Painkiller Overdose IS AWESOME, played the original Painkiller+battle out of hell, the whole holy modern day warrior thing catches on to you...
And maybe, just maybe...BlackSite Area 51..it seems interesting for me, but just as Bioshock, never did finish it...booooring -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
how many fps did u get on blacksite i get 5-15 all settings low
-
Definitely Bioshock, BEST GAME EVER
-
Well BS Area 51, as I like to call it
D) ran pretty nice, since it was built on the Unreal 3 engine(just as Bioshock and Timeshift and apparently Assasin`s creed(?) ) So 1280x800,med/high settings, over 30 fps ,averaging 25.
-
Have you played Prostreet or Most Wanted? You stated that you played NFS Carbon.
Other than that The Orange Box is probably the best value out there and you could still play CoD4 multiplayer forever... -

again, thanks everyone, great list. Feel free to add any other games you'd recommend (not necessarily new ones) -

I found blacksite to be somewhat disappointing. 1: Even though I'm no fan of the war in Iraq AT ALL, I found the snide injections of anti-war propaganda a little too much even for me, 2: the graphics were no better than UT3, yet I got lower fps constantly than I get on ut3, and 3: It was short and the ending was lackluster.
Bioshock was awesome, even though I never finnished it. I actually found the game scary in the beginning.
I hope they make alot of UT3 based games, I think the graphics engine has ALOT of potential. Infact I find it more visually pleasing than crysis, plus it's much more practical, as in my computer can run it comfortably.
I second dawn of war, pretty much the most fun strategy game I've played since starcraft... and maybe warhammer 40,000 iteself, hehe...not.

orange box a must, and i second doom 3! classic game!

what he said -

what about hot wheels velicityx it a old game and its hot wheels but it is simailar to twisted metal. and dont forget about ff7 and ff8 for pc
-
somehow Oblivion didn't satisfy me at all...closing all the portals one by one kinda got boring (oops...*spoiler* you close portals)....I ended up running it and healing myself and avoid as much enemies as possible.
but other than that.... bioshock , World in conflict , CnC3 , UT3 are all pretty epic games.
STARCRAFT2 BETTER BE AS GOOD AS THE RTS MENTIONED ABOVE COS RIGHT NOW IT'S LOOKING PRETTY GREY. -
Oblivion wasn't about the main quest. It's about all of the amazing side quests. I didn't even waste time I the main quest till I was around Level 30.
-
It's been mentioned many times, but The Orange Box is spectacular.

ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan

the 8600mgt is a very capable card.it can play any game on the market on decent settings
-
Yep...
it is pretty good
-
Did anyone else find all the hl2 episodes to be disappointingly short?
-
-
The Orange Box
Call of Duty 4
Bioshock
World in Conflict
Gears of War
Diablo (all of them 1, 2, expansion) (classic but brilliant game) -
Crysis
Halo
Battlefield 2
FEAR Combat
Far Cry -
-
-
Combat, great, graphics, great ... but I just thought "why am I playing this?". After the astounding intro, I just felt like you were pretty much ploughing through the game in straight line to get to some person who will point you in one direction, when you get to another person who points you in another...
I prefer my gameage a bit more cinematic. -
I do not like the whole half life series one bit -
Tried HL2 - great game.. hmm... what should I try next...
-
i liked hl2. it just took me awhile to get into it.
-
bump.
I think i might try doom 3 next.. -
Battlefield 2 with the Project Reality Mod.
Now that's hardcore gaming...
-
Can anyone reccomend a good RTS? I see Command and Conquer 3 and Warhammer mentioned, but they are too futuristic for my tastes. I'm looking for a game where you could start in an old age, but end up in the current age or futuristic age. I imagine a game like that is hard to find in 2008.
Also, I hear COD4 is great but I cannot get into it as the gameplay just isn't my style. I like Day of Defeat and I play a little UT3 so that is what I'm used to. Also I played BF2 and FEAR. Back on topic, is the multiplayer of COD4 really great? I hear it is, but I would like more opinions on it.
