So far only impressed by two games - new Metro and Wolfenstein. The rest didn't grab my attention. -

Great E3 this year. Games I'm most looking forward to for PC:
- Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Thoroughly enjoyed the first game and really looking forward to its sequel.
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I hadn't heard of this series until just now, but I love Metroidvania games, and this series looks and sounds amazing. I just bought Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition on Steam (it's on sale for US $9.99 through June 19th) and can't wait to crack it open.
- Star Wars: Battlefront 2... maybe. It'll likely depend on the quality and length of the single-player campaign.
- Anthem and Destiny 2 (never played the first Destiny): I'm keeping an open mind about them. We'll see.
I'm honestly more excited about Nintendo's announcements, and I don't even have a Switch or 3DS. Mario Odyssey looks amazing, Metroid Prime 4 (!!!), Metroid: Samus Returns, and Xenoblade. And while I haven't played a Pokemon game since Silver and Gold were released something like 15 years ago, my inner 12-year-old is gleeful to finally see a true Pokemon RPG game on a home console. My biggest takeaway from this E3 is that I should probably buy a Switch sometime soon.Last edited: Jun 14, 2017 -

That showcase of Anthem was too good to be true, It's superb to see all that extreme tessellation and vegetation with AA level to maxxx but I'll believe when I see the real gameplay not neutered. Ofc this is EA with Frostbite unlike the Ubitroll, who doesn't downgrade, But also the game is an MMO, A huge BUMMER !! Period.
I want a good SP campaign ffs. Very very less FPS games these days.. majority of them would be zero recoil which is damn booring. Even the SWBF SP campaign, No idea how would it be..the MP same boring BF4 repeat and still not on BF4 level except the StarWars sticker plastered over it to make monies by the conglomerate Disney, plus the Third person shooter and FPS cameras in same server, A big fat joke tbh, destroys the fun and enthusiasm totally..
Glad to see Wolfenstein II : The New Colossus & Metro : Exodus, Which were the real stars of E3, for me at the very least. Bethesda people really are the only ones left who make the real games - Prey, DOOM and a notch lesser the FO4, Dishonored 2.
I hoped there would be another BioShock or perhaps another Borderlands from 2K...
This got me intrigued

we saw a gorilla boss thing, indicating difficulty restricted locations. underwater exploration, some weaponry, combat, loot, mobs, armor choices, weather.
I mean it showed way more than most games. I don't know why so much saltiness. -
No Arkham announcement
Ah well.

It is true that PC exclusive titles are few and far between any more at least when it comes to big budget titles. But there's genres that never have translated well to consoles and that includes MMORPG, Real Time and Turn Based Strategy, and simulation driving and flying, and even massive online shooters. These are also the games that do best with keyboard/mouse and/or added peripherals that you just can't get for consoles.
While PC's usually get bad ports, consoles have dumbed down versions of these games. For example Battlefield games have always been 64 player, consoles limited to 32, not to mention maps were frequently smaller. Strategy games are damn near impossible to do on console. It's been tried, just never very successfully. While yes there are MMORPG's on consoles, their limited RAM and video RAM usually preclude them from having massive amounts of players and detail. What I like most about PC games though are the indie titles. The massive amount of quality low budget games that cost pennies that give you satisfaction playing them.
I'm on the PC gaming side of the fence, that doesn't mean consoles are bad. I play games on those frequently too, just with my kids usually. Personally I can't stand gamepads, and I grew up with all the original gaming consoles like Atari 2600 and Intellivision and NES, etc. Just in the same way that you can browse the internet on a "Smart TV" your experience will always be better on a PC.
Bottom line, IMHO, PC gaming will be here forever. If anything it will make a resurgence. PC gaming will be dead after Half-Life 3 is released. -
PC ports on ultra typically look better than console versions. Whether the graphical difference is worth the hardware price difference is a different question, of course--and a personal one.Last edited: Jul 1, 2017killkenny1 likes this. -
"That Ryan guy" is good at pulling shenanigans. He also somehow keeps popping up on these forums despite having been banned multiple times. Probably best not to trust what he claims.
