Hey guys. Well, I'm going to do a 48 or 72 hour PC Video Game Marathon (depending how tired I get after 48 hours) on Ustream, and I'm doing it for charity. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/pc-video-game-marathon (ignore the test2, just a try out with a streaming program that I'm not using). I'll have a ChipIn widget thing up in a bit, after I decide on the charity, and my goal is $1000. I'll update here when I decide on the games I'll be playing.
It starts at 12 am GMT, with a preparation starting at 11:30 (so if you want to hear me talk to myself for 30 min, tune in then!) and I hope to have your support! Thanks guys, first time with this![]()

So...what games are you going to be playing and what are you going to rely on to keep yourself awake? Red bull?
The longest that I've managed to game in a row is about 36 hours or so but that was without any energy drinks or coffee....just tons of soda.... -
Got some coffee, Red Bull, willpower..
Game wise: Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, Race Driver: GRID, and some more that I'm trying to think of. -
As time drags on and activity slows down and I'm not constantly playing games anymore, I start to tire.
72 or even 48 hours is a very very long time to game without doing it with alot of friends. I'd recommend maybe picking up a few new games that you'll probably like since they'll probably get your attention for hopefully at least a dozen hours each. -
Haven't played Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, I have Fuel..only at the 5th camp, got mirror's edge which I got yesterday, don't think I'm that far in, GRID I haven't played in a year, Assassin's Creed..I bought it but never played it, Overlord II - haven't properly played it yet, Fallout 3 + Oblivion - never got even half way through. =P
-
Well Mirror's Edge is short, but Fallout 3 and Oblivion will take a good time if you want to beat them
-
-
Well Grid and Call of Juarez are a definate stay for me, out of the others I listed, which do you think I should play?
-
Alternate every few hours to prevent boredom, but axe Overlord 2

Make sure you keep yourself nourished during those 48-72 hours. One man in Korea died after playing Starcraft for I think 24 hours straight without eating or drinking anything. Red Bull, Coffee isn't enough. You're probably gonna have to get some nutrition bars to keep yourself healthy.
-
Yeah, I'm taking up some food, and I'll take like a min or two breaks to grab some breakfast/lunch and get back to the games.
-
Heard about a bloke (korean) who went 72 hours straight in an internet cafe on just coffee - his heart gave out
Make sure you drink plenty of water, eat some real food if you can, and don't overdo it on the sugar/caffiene.
Good luck. -
Are you going to be doing this marathon on the machine in your sig?

I have gone easy 24 hours with just water and energy drinks. There is no way you can die from that unless you had it coming from something else.
Any science class should teach you that you can live like a week or so without food and like a day or 2 without water and a few minutes without air. -

Yeah, give the human body a little more credit lol, if they died, it wasn't from starvation or dehydration...

I spent 18 hours straight playing War in the Pacifc:Admiral's Edition yesterday
.
WitP is hardcore wargame(95% of everyone on this forum's brain couldn't handle this game) and requires losts of time. Each turn represents a day of the Pacific War in WWII and I spend 30 minutes to 2 hours on each turn.So after playing all day I'm only at December 27th of 1941...intense carrier battle going on....
PC Video Game Marathon.
