    PCIe and PCI graphics in same machine

    Not notebook related so delete if against policy...

    On a desktop PC if i have a PCIe Dual Head graphics card and a cheap PCI (or second PCIe) graphics card can I run them both and have 3 monitors connected?

    I think it might be fine as long as you arn't using vista.

    7 would be fine.

    Vista does not allow multiple graphics drivers.

    Also as long as you don't mix ATI 'legacy' + ATI non legacy, for example one card is older/worse than x1950 and 2nd is newer than 2400, then you'll have to use 9.3 catalyst. And if you put in a legacy card and 5xxx and get them to work, PM me :)

    I've done this very thing on my old desktop, shouldn't be a problem at all. But you will need to ensure that both cards are either both ATI or both nVidia.

    Now if you have any further questions on this, I would really appreciate it if you could make a thread over at DTR and link to it.
