For those with high-end laptops, I'm wondering how well does ps2 emulation work on them? Specifically, games like Final Fantasy X & XII, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2.
I know, I know, ps2s are cheap to get nowadays, but its a matter of space for the necessaries (tv, desk, ps2, etc). So I'm hoping to get a laptop that can handle the emulation. Thanks in advance for any help.

get the fastest processor you can afford. also, get a 64 bit operating system. you might want to get an ubuntu 8.04 64 bit installation going. im not sure if pcsx2 has a 64 bit linux executable, but its probably the fastest solution if available.
compatibility is spotty, but i think it can run the games you mentioned above. -
PCSX2 is the only one out there that is decent.
need at least 2.2-2.4GHz dual-core and mid-range videocard to run most games at normal speed.
Quad-cores are the best. -
Don't expect perfect framerates at all (the ones I've tried- FFXII, Suikoden 3/5). You would probably be better off just getting a PS2 used or new or BC PS3 for now...its got a little ways to go before its like other emus imo

I run FFX and KH at full 60fps on my notebook.
