    360 controller ftw :)

    or try these programs
    www.xpadder.com
    www.pinnaclegameprofiler.com

EDIT* I just noticed you said PS 2 not 3, I see a couple of the ps2>usb converters on ebay, and one of the above programs should run it fine.

but seems just as easy to get a new PS3 or 360 pad, I use the the wireless 360 pad via wireless adapter for windows. And the 360 pad works out of the box with all "Games for Windows" titles. Good Luck :)

Not to derail, but does the 360 pad work as a generic gamepad in any game?

No, some games don't support gamepads at all. Thats where the programs I mentioned come in, they just map keyboard input to the controller buttons, and mouse and or w,s,a,d keys to analog sticks.

So after mapping the gamepad you can use it in any game, I've actually ran my Windows OS with it, for browsing the web, and playing movies. Just set up the mapping for your needs.

    ugh... its not easier.

its cheaper. i already own ps2 controllers.

now that my thread has been yanked, anyone else have a particular solution that they know will work with vista x64?

and i just need basic joystick functionality, not remapping software.

thanks for the help so far, ill check out ebay.
