Hey guys I'm planning to get a PS3 but i don't have a HDTV in my room. I'm planning to use it with a computer monitor as I need it to use with my laptop as well.
Do you know if PS3 is compatible with LCD monitors. Which cables would I use. What is the best type of monitor to use with PS3? Do any computer monitors come with HDMI?

current LCD monitors can all be used to hook up game consoles, all you would have to do it to purchase separate cables.
An LCD monitor usually has a VGA or a DVI connection.
You can purchase a VGA cable for the PS3, or if you want to use the HDMI port of the PS3, there is a HDMI-to-DVI cable as well.
You can use any resolution LCD really, but the best for the PS3 is 1920x1200, which is full 1080p. These monitors usually cost a great deal. -
Usually ~600-700, cheapest. It's WUXGA resolution, and Acer has the cheapest. 24", if I remember correctly.

Does the PS3 have a DVI out? Or does it just have VGA and HDMI?
Do you think that a 22'' Dell monitor with 1680 x 1050 resolution be ok?
Do you recommend any other monitors under $400? -
If you want a good 22" LCD with the WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050), I would go for the:
Acer AL2223Wd 22" WSXGA+ LCD - $289.99
its a much better value than the 22" Dell.
If you want to "future-proof" with Full HD (1080p) resolution from PS3/Xbox360 and BluRay/HD-DVD... you might consider to go for a 24" (1920x1200) LCD.
