Well, I was just browsing on youtube and found out that there were adapters made for both the Xbox360 and PS3 that allow you to hook up a mouse and keyboard!

It is possible that these adapters may work with the PS4/XBOX One as I think they support the previous gen controllers. If that is the case, then that is really a selling point for me on a next gen console because I just simply cannot play shooters with a gamepad :D. I would mainly get the PS4 with this mouse and keyboard setup for BF4, because the pc-port is loaded with tons of issues and I would rather not deal with a bug-ridden game. If the adapter doesn't work, then we just have to wait for a new adapters to be made.

I just thought of letting you all know, because there might be others like me who would really consider a next-gen console with mouse/keyboard support. And please don't rant on how "I'm a console fanboy" - I know how under-powered they are and my last real console was PS2... I just want a solid working version of BF4

The problem with mouse on a console is the turn rate is still limited. I can't play FPS with a controller either. It sucks. But there are adapters for the Xbox 360 and the experience is far from a PC experience.

Is the turn rate limited even if you change the DPI on your mouse physically, not through the software or the adapter? In the videos I've seen people using these adapters, the mice they have hooked up to it are just average regular ones, and not real gaming mice.

It doesn't matter the dpi. Turn rate in the game is limited.
