and what mousee? u find it differently when u play games different genre's? like different types like shooting and point and click games like diablo 3,

Baka uses claw grip mainly and Baka mainly plays MOBAs and strategy games ._.

I claw the mouse pretty much all the time, but not too intensely. The base of my hand, near the wrist, barely wrests on the desk as I move the mouse with my thumb and middle 3 fingers. My pinkie kind of just sits off to the side not doing anything, but it doesn't get in the way. I use a Logitech Anywhere MX, which isn't truly a gaming mouse, but it's kind of small so I have to claw it a bit no matter what.
When I try to play with the whole hand palm style I feel like it takes too long to click. Also aiming isn't as twitchy I feel when you've got your entire hand on the mouse. I mostly am talking about CSS right there, but I do enjoy the game so yeah.
EDIT: Almost everything I play is FPS or RPG. Most every game is first person though, even if a 3rd person view is available. Occasionally I'll play some Civ V, but not too intensely. -
palm for MMOs, claw for fps/rts

I love my orochi, it uses my internal bluetooth so no dongles, or I can use a cable depending on what I want.
Not for large hands though. -
Palm grip, Mionix Naos as the G700 was too small for me to palm comfortably.
-
Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Palm grip and I use the G700 for mostly RPG's and FPS's.
-
Weirdest combination: Claw grip + G500 (with maximum weight) + Low sense.
-
I use the claw grip because the deathadder almost forces you to in order to use the macros. Also because I play SC2.
-
Have always used claw grip for everything.

I've been using my Logitech M570 and Nostromo for so long, I can't game with anything else anymore.

I used to get cramps with other mice. -
I use the "Fingertip Grip", and I buy ambidextrous Razer mouses.
-
I could never EVER get used to a trackball. It just seemed so counter-intuitive. Probably same reason I can't use a gamepad very well. Fine control with the thumb, your least dextrous digit, never made a whole lot of sense to me.
-
Palm, with every mouse I use beside my Anywhere Mouse MX which is so darn small that I have to use claw grip. For gaming I just use a Logitech G700.
I can't use trackball mice either. Bad things happen. -
-
Oops, I listed them backwards.

G700, palm for as assortment of stuff: SC2, dota (the original for WC3, ME3, Civ V, some of everything.
-
I claw grip all the time no matter what I'm doing. My hands are below average in size and my mice are large. Palming just feels so unnatural to me and it has a lot less fine control.
-
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Claw grip. I feel comfy using the claw grip for more accuracy.
-
I've been using the palm grip on my mx518 since 2005. Lately I've been looking at the G700, as I want a wireless mouse, but I'm a bit uncertain as I've heard some people say it's too tall, and battery life is bad.

I do a mixture of the two. I use a basic claw grip, but the joints on my ring and little finger rest on the mouse too.
In all truth, I find that I do vary my grip depending on the scenario. If I'm doing something tricky and precise then I'll quite often end up unconciously switching to a true claw grip. -
Palm with slight hint of claw; G1 mouse. I have the G5 but kind of hate it.
Also, am I the only one who never actually moves his wrist when maneuvering with the mouse? I use my wrist as the anchor-point instead. -
Claw grip + Razer Naga Hex.
-
I dont really care i think.
I mean if mouse is big my palm have a place to rest but if its small my hand position pretty much doesnt change except for palm is actually hanging in the air.
maybe dats called "palm grip" but i am really fine if mouse is small as well.
[edit]
Ok i just googled this and i was like whaaat?! — do people actually play with their hand forming nice and comfortable triangle in the air, lol
So i guess i only do palm grip.
-
That picture is kind of ridiculous. I think that might be an extreme example just to illustrate it better.

G700 & claw.
-
So whats the real difference? i mean doesnt those people like to rest their palm on a mouse on purpose?
-
With claw your fingers do most of the action of moving the mouse around. If your palm is on the mouse it is all in your arm and wrist. The fingers have a lot more dexterity.

Palm grip which is now sporting a G700.

Believe it or not, I used to use my ThinkPad's trackpoint for gaming. Yes, that little nub in the middle of the keyboard. It worked well for single-player games like Half-Life or certain multiplayer games like Killing Floor and Team Fortress 2 (for classes with area of effect weapons like Soldier and Demoman), but it was pure hell trying to play Counter-Strike with it. Not to mention the cramps I would sometimes get. My k/d ratio was around a 0.64. I now have a Gigabyte M6800 optical mouse that was a budget purchase, but it's still pretty decent. My Counter-Strike k/d ratio, however, is still a 0.64. At least I have a little less trouble trying to pick off targets on Long A of Dust 2...
The size of the Gigabyte mouse pretty much forces me to use a palm grip, but I find that grip more comfortable anyway. It's mostly used for first person shooters, and it's serving me well in Company of Heroes. -
Left handed Claw Grip and I use a Logitech Wireless Desktop MK320 Keyboard and mouse set.
Usually play on my bed facing my 51 inch Plasma TV that I use as my gaming Display. -
i don't know what grip i have as i use the logitech mx518 which feels natural to just "rest" my hand on it and a logitech ex100 mouse which i only have my fingertips on it.
-
Razer Imperator 4G here, Claw (30%)/Fingertip Grip (70%). My previous mouse was a Habu so a (100%) Palm Grip, but after a bit of exercise I find the Imperator very confortable!
-
Palm when relaxing, claw when get more serious.
How do using the trackpoint count? -
Claw grip, I play FPS/RTS. MOBA on rare occasions.
Palm vs Claw Grip? what do you use for gaming?
