Hey guys, i'm currently running Empire Total War on my acer laptop (see my sig), and it was ok at first (had to upgrade to an ati hd 4670 from a nvidia 8600m gt to have decent image quality), but now i'm a bit further down the campain, and it always takes ages before the Maratha Confedercy finishes its turn (and yes I turned cpu movements off). It doesn't have anything to do with my gpu since this is on the campain map, and my cpu and ram are both around 60-70%. So, i'm not sure if this is an issue with performance, or just a glitch.

Anyway, I'd like to know from the people who play Shogun 2 TW, if the game is more, or about the same regarding their performance on your systems. If Shogun 2 is more demanding, I think i'll wait another year or two before to purchase it after I get myself a gaming desktop.

I think that's just a bug for Empire:TW where a faction thinks forever for it's turn...

this is indeed a bug. It happens due to the multiple little stacks spam. Or in the Ottoman Empire case due to the use of the land bridge.

The S2 is currently great, without a significant bug, there are some quirks here and there that dont detract from the gameplay. And yes the performance is about the same, if you can run the game on high you will play s2 on high.

I'm glad to hear its probably a bug, it wouldn't be the first one. Somethimes (actually quite often) Empire just freezes and shuts down for no reason when: I'm in a campain, trying to save, fighting a battle, etc.

If I had known i'd have so much trouble playing it I would never have payed 50€ for it.

heh, thats why I usually buy my games when they enter a promotion, not on launch, the only game that i bought on launch date was incredibly shogun 2

To avoid the Bug I usually pay for the nations to fit those that are going to be extremely powerful, marthas, otoman and so forth, so that they dont bug the game.
