I just found this today, I would be lying if i said I was not excited some.

PSO (Phantasy Star Online) has always been my favorite MMO of all time.

I played WoW, Guild Wars, and others but none of them had the same appeal and way to do things that PSO did.

I love the design, music, interaction, that JP anime feel.

I played PSO all the way back in the day on Dreamcast using a dial up model attachment and hacking free isp servers via proxy to connect to the JP servers and allow them to work for PSO :D

So I do not know if this is coming to America or not but I hope so, and maybe just maybe I will give Sega another chance.

At any rate, here is the trailer: YouTube - ‪[ Phantasy Star Online 2 ] TGS trailer - High Quality‬‏

yeah i really liked pso also. i played it alot back in the dreamcast days also. i only really stopped playing it because sega decided to charge a monthly fee which is what is most likely going to happen with this one. well after this releases maybe they will make universe free?(yeah right)

till then ill just stick to pso on the schthack server.

You play BB or PSO V2 on schthack?

I was looking at that just the other day and the files have gotten so complicated for BB tons of different installers.

I got perma banned from PSU for having a hacked item so I can ever return, not sure if that would carry over to PSO2??

But the worst thing is that like a year ago or so I decided to play PSU again and looked up my account and it said everything was in good standing.

I paid for my new hunters licence and everything to play, installed the game and had these connection errors. When I googled the errors it meant I was banned, even though my account was in good standing and they charged me to play!

I was so aggravated, and never got any support on the issue.

Hmmmm. This looks interesting. When exactly is PSO2 supposed to be out?

Played PSO v2, played PSP, about to start playing PSP2, will definitely play this one too if the price is right. And I wish they put infrastructure mode on the portable versions, the bot controlled party members do idiotic stuff at times....

you can play infrastructure mode with psp2. this requires you to have a little wing license if i remember correctly (included in a new game purchase) as far as im aware there is no monthly fee either. unfortunately i bought the game used so i dont have the code needed for the infrastructure mode but you can play adhoc games online if you have a ps3 by using the adhoc party application from the psn store or alternatively using xlink kai through your pc.

It's games like PSO that almost made me go to school to be a video game designer and contribute to future projects.

That's how big of an impact this game had on my life (as well as Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III; both SNES).

My eyes lit up when I saw this thread title!

I pray that they're nearly finished, flash it off @ E3 and then release it soon after ...

Very, very few games would make me skip school/work + lock myself in a room for a week and this is one of them :p

ok finally after a few rage filled hrs i am able to get as far as a ship lobby then error out. i think im just going to have to add every single damn file from the bb folder to my anti virus exclusion list. ill take a lil bit but im pretty sure thatll get rid of there errors. reminds me of minecraft when i first got it

Long live PSO! I've played it since the Dreamcast days and it was one of the best games I've ever gotten into!

I have not had time to play yet but mine works so I will be sure to play with you.

Do you use keyboard or controller?

even though its functioning fine and it stopped erroring out im gonna finish adding all the files to virus exclusion to prevent bs later.

ill probably use the keyboard at first but im pretty sure ill switch to the controller once i figure out what keys and what not i would be using the most. (keyboard will still be there for chat purposes though)

Yeah I used xpadder I think and used my controller to play and keyboard to talk.

Its a bit more comfortable and more natural to lay back and play with the controller. The only challenge is force where having more keys open is nice but I was always good with casting techs via the menu and just putting them in logical locations and setting my techs for each area.

Not sure if I want to go force this time though, its my favorite class but hardest to solo and other than buffs and healing I feel they kinda suck in Ultimate. 30 casts of a spell to kill a mob when a Ranger with a good hit% mech gun takes them down in one attack string :./
