I'm looking for a picture of the ATi/AMD 3870 MXM board that is being used in the OCZ whitebook and new Alienware systems. I can find picture of the upcoming 4800 series (M98) on google easily but I am looking for the 3870 (m88). I'm trying to see if it would physically fit in my HP 8730w. I realize this doesn't guarantee it will work but it's a good place to start.
Thanks!!!

it wont work, dont waste your time

the Arima MXM cards are "special" MXM.... not really standard to be used in other systems.
so like stated above... don;t waste your time. -
sigh...need to post links...filler...

OK, here we go...
Thanks for the replies. I am still interested in seeing the card if someone can point me to a picture. What seems to make the Armia cards special in some cases is that they are physically different (size, mounting holes) than standard MXMIII cards.

If the 3870 is physically a MXMIII type that raises the possibility it will work in other machines. It has been tested and found to work in an Alienware M9750 (I know...based off of an Armia chassis...).

Thanks for the warnings, I realize that it's a long shot and there could be other problems like vBios etc. but I would like to take a look at the card and see size and mounting holes, etc.
Anyway, is someone has a picture of the 3870 board or info on compatibility with other notebooks that would be great.
Thanks -
go check out www.mxm-upgrade.com , they have pics of the "Special" MXM's of Arima's there.
dont brick your system to try out a non-standard card. -
