    hmm....
did open the keyboard of my hp a few days ago and had a look inside my 8510p. what i saw looks quite identical to the pictures i´ve seen. if my hd 2600 is mxm II, then this one should be the same.

I've debated this quite a bit in my head, it looks a lot like MXM II.

    Please please make the 3600HD 256 bit but I got a bad feeling it'll be 128bit :(..

It's 128 bit. It's just a 55 nm shrink of the HD 2600, with minor enhancements, such as DirectX 10.1. You'll have to wait for the mobility HD 3800 for a 256 bit ATI GPU.

Has anyone heard when these chipsets will start to appear? I've been putting off buying a notebook until one with a Mobility HD3600 comes on the market.

Might want to hold off until HD4600 , rumour has it that they are trying to push those cards out for Q3 2008.

    The notebook.

I've been looking at a couple of models from ASUS that have attractive price points (about $1000). They use the Radeon Mobility HD2600...but I'm sure they must be ready to release a HD3600 version. Just haven't heard of any firm release dates or model info.
