What is everyone playing on thier laptops during that morning/afternoon commute? I have SimCity 4 and Command and Conquers General loaded. Very good games but I can't always get to them during the train ride. I'm one of those people that starts a game, a must finish it. I can't stand saving, and picking back up later only to lose my flow. This past weekend, I picked up the expansion pack for C&C and Rise of Nations. I'm really getting into RoN. The elements of it are very dynamic so it doesn't lead itself to alot fo predictability. These impressions after only playing the tutorials!!! So now I'm looking for more RTS (Real Time Strategy) games to get into...any suggestions?

dude, i thought you meant you were playing your laptop while driving, that would not be good. which city do you live in? i'm in nyc and simply walk to work, so no playing games during the commute. i think a strategy game like sim city 4 is what i'd choose though, i would likely use a pda to play games and not my laptop on the subway though...often you're stuck standing up.

J-Bytes, I don't get you sometimes, but your sig is funny so its ok.

For long commutes I'd pop in games that you CAN save. My favorite to play, back in the day, was Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete. That's a turnbased game that is pretty easy to pause and pickup later. RTS games, well by now you could try Command and Conquer 3, that's pretty fun to mess around with, it is at least as fun as playing C&C: Generals and Zero Hour (I really loved playing Zero Hour with the defense specced General. Supreme Commander is also a great one for quick matches, although things can spiral out and last much longer if you aren't decisive early on. Company of Heroes is a very impressive RTS set in WWII. There are a LOT of great RTS games on the horizon. World in Conflict (I think that's what it is called) looks neat. There is also Starcraft 2 coming out. Uhh...that one that has Aliens vying for control of earth with Humans stuck in the middle, I forget what it is called.

Space Siege is going to rock. :D But thats an RPG, so forget I said anything. Oh OH and Bioshock.
