and I don't think their resources are limited. -
This game was supposed to launch in October.
http://www.pcgamer.com/playerunknowns-battlegrounds-guaranteed-to-leave-early-access-by-october/
It's nowhere near completion. I'd say at least a year out from now.
They keep adding things instead of fixing things. I already see the player base segmenting and becoming a drag for new players. I don't know how you're supposed to get good at this game without literally sinking many hundreds of hours into it because you rarely ever run into people. And when you do, it's usually campers constantly scanning the horizon. I don't blame them. But it's impossible to understand the shooting mechanics of this game if you only get to shoot a weapon a handful of times every 20-30 minutes of game time.
I maybe run into 1 or 2 people in the beginning, unless I care to jump in the heat with everyone else, but to me that's just dumb. Because it's just frantic hoping you find a weapon before someone else, or get panned in the head. Otherwise it's a good 15-20 minutes of chasing the circle and hoping for decent loot, only to die by the guy that got lucky with the weapons and scopes that ran immediately to the center of the circle and/or got lucky with location.
Then again, I only play solo. Probably more fun with dual or squad. Too bad I don't have friends that play this game. Oh, wait, I actually need friends. -
I like the game but looting and dying is becoming tedious. I'm taking a break and playing a couple other games.

I'm like 130 hr into game and I already have many wins. Last 10 games = 7 wins. It's most likely a luck, but,.. you can play the game the way you like. You can be stealth, have 1 kill and win the game and you can be dominator that kills 30 ppl during the whole game. I'm kind of the guy who lands far away and steahlth's his way to the end. That's the magic, you are in danger all the time but you're not forced to play any particular tactic.
At the beginning it's good to land on high-great areas just to train your aim/shooting. But it's just training,m later on you play the way you like. Camping, Assaulting, stealth etc. whatever you chose -
I don't call it hardcore either, I call it luckcore, lol. It's a lot like Battlefield games, so dependent on ping and server location and if the gods are in your favor. I know it's a survival game, but I rarely ever fire a shot, I just never run into anyone, ever, and usually get in top 10-15 without a problem, and I usually just run through fields without a care in the world, not even trying to be stealthy. I'd rather get in a firefight to at least get a chance to kill someone.
But when it does come down to shooting, I shoot someone in the head a few times with a SCAR and they don't die. They shoot back with a UMP, one shot I'm dead... It's like rolling dice half the time. And even then, it's almost completely down to who see whom first.
It should be called the looting game. Because that's all it is 99% of the time. Start game, find stuff, run, run run, maybe shoot once or twice. Die.
When I watch some footage of people, they always seem to come across people all the time and people that aren't paying attention. I never do. Only ever run into people that are camping somewhere. Can never see them.
I'm really having a hard time finding any appeal to this game. I liked it at first, and the idea intrigued me, but now, nothing's changed. It's always the same. I don't see how this game will have lasting appeal, especially since they're not fixing stuff that needs to be fixed instead of keep adding on crap.Starlight5 and Atma like this. -
Hitreg in PUBG is beyond crap, it makes BF4 look phenomenal in comparison.

I find positioning to be more important than always trying to scout out a weapon and a scope. For example staying right on top of plane flight path to know where people are traveling from and sometimes keeping at the edge of the circle rather than plumb center often works better since you know people unlikely to snag you from behind. Most wins I've had have been with crappy weapons because it's forced my to use my wits more.
Having said that, getting a bolt action and x8 is pretty tasty.Atma likes this. -
I'm lucky to get any kind of rifle. I hike halfway through most games with a shotgun and a pistol because there are no damn rifles around. And when i do, usually it's an M16 or SCAR if not a UMP or Uzi.
I dunno. I just don't think it's for me. I feel like it's just an advanced game of hide and seek. Peek a boo, I see you first, I win! yay!
Edit: I just played a few rounds, and first two, same as usual, I get a shotgun and a pistol, looted at least a dozen houses with no rifle. I start running because circle closing in, and sure enough... THREE guys just camping there firing at me. Not at each other. Just me. Why wouldn't they try to target each other? I get to safety behind a rock. No more gun fire. As soon as I peek out, three different gun shots. Only thing I can think of is they were "teaming" which isn't allowed either.
In any case, I didn't realize this was possible either. Guess I made my own "luck":
And go to the 1:00 mark in this video. Happens to me ALL the time when I actually get in a close combat situation. Not sure how to make my own luck out of that.

OK, after all my whining, I finally got on a fog map, and I did pretty well. Not to mention actually found rifles and plenty of 5.56 ammo from the get go and a silencer. Made all the difference in the world. I hope you can eventually choose to play only fog maps or adverse weather maps. I tend to do better on those than the wide open sunny day ones.

I cant play PUBG very well, my primary laptop is at its limits with this game so making close quarters engagements almost impossible.
I stick to Siege and MGSV personally but I definitely can see the appeal of PUBG. -
This game is a joke. Three times today I have gone AFK to help my kids with something. Come back 10-15 minutes later and am still alive and in top 20. No kills, did nothing, garnered 200+ points... It needs a serious overhaul of some sort. Not sure what they can do. But any game that I can disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time and still get in top 10-15% is a joke.

Getting that chicken dinner is usually a pretty amazing feeling, and usually ends with a hell of a firefight. -
Chicken dinner doesn't get you anything but a few more points. I don't get the whole objective behind it.
They're only doing "something right" in that you can go AFK for 20-30 minutes and still get points for playing. It's a ridiculous premise and needs to change. -

Mini 14 feels too OP atm, probably because they want to get more ppl to like the new weapon.
won't be surprised if it gets nerf in future patch though...
@Tanner@XoticPC being able to doze off while prone is priceless when pulling all-nighters. -

Occasionally having to sprint upstairs because of your 3 year old will also do it. -

Why do I keep coming back to this stupid game. Problem is that there's no replay and no kill cam, so you have no clue what's really going on or how you really died.
I just played a round where I was prone, I had the high ground, behind a tree, beside a bush... I heard no foot steps, no nothing. Then bam bam bam, I was dead, and half a second later the dude was on my box looting it. So he clearly was nearby and not prone as quickly as he was on my corpse. I have no idea how he saw me and also why I didn't hear ANY footsteps whatsoever. If there was a replay/kill-cam I would have at least seen his approach and also a way to report/tell if there should have been footsteps.
I guess that's what bothers me most. You can't learn from your mistakes. And don't know if it's something stupid you did or the game. They really need to implement replay/kill-cam footage.Atma likes this. -

i dont mind the non loading in tbh, otherwise we would have a end game of people lying prone doing nothing.....game is already slow enough middle-end game as it is.

ive got no problems with prone, as long as there is balance.......i personally don't think the prone mechanic is meant for the purpose it is used for end game, i think it is more of a ohhh no i need to heal, or oh no my cover is blown....if going prone made you completely invisible depending on if you got the luck to be on the "side" with grass cover etc then its not balanced...as it stands its possible to spot so im cool with it.
-
But my point before was that this person was clearly very near me, so foliage had to have been loaded in. If it were a sniper or long shot, I would understand. I was behind a tree and a bush and was blocked by anyone downhill at distance.

and as far as advantages in third person mode going prone has all the advantages....... -
This may not be as needed in dual or squad play, but for solo, you could use a little extra help.
I just got done with a game and got 2nd place (ugh). I was dumb. It came down the final smallest circle. I thought I heard the guy, I got nervous stood up to shoot, and he was to my right not straight ahead, and bam bam bam I was dead.Sucks.
I didn't realize you could shoot through these boxes either.

One thing I've noticed, I do a lot better whenever I play on my laptop (Sager NP8157/Clevo P650HS-G, i7-7820HK, GTX 1070) than I do with my desktop (i7-5820K, GTX 1080 Ti). I limit both to 75 FPS and both have G-sync. Only difference is that my laptop is on wi-fi and my desktop hard connection. So maybe some extra latency is actually helping me. Who knows.
-
Regarding the latency, trust me it's a definite disadvantage. When I play with my Oz friends I do terribly. As soon as we switch to a AS server I hit all my targets.
What I've found is they sometimes playing on a laptop feels more engaging since I sit so close in. Depending on your desktop monitor size, sometimes if it's too big you're at a disadvantage because you have to turn your neck to scan the landscape for targets. -

Game has a very low server tick, so the lag can unintentionally help...
I cant play the game on my laptop due to the response time issues. Using an ASUS PG278Q without Gsync to actually land hits and such.

I haven't played this game in about a month due to lack of time to play anything really and I went on a little this weekend. Out of curiosity I was looking through my steam inventory to see if I had anything I could sell and make some cash off of....I sold all my CSGO skins when I got this game and bought the trenchcoat, bandana, and red hi-tops. All I can say is holy s*** @ the prices of these items now. Now I don't even want to sell anything in hopes it just keeps going up more and more.
-
I got lucky and sold some CSGO skins to get the Red Bandana and Trench Coat when they were roughly 90-120 each. Look at it now...
-
Yeah I had bought them when they were about 250 each, now they have more than doubled in price. Part of me wants to make some money off of it but part of me hopes it may just keep going up and want to hold off and I don't know what to do lol, I never thought they would end up like this.
-
-
Part of this is due to the loot crates too. Worth real money. Add that in, and it's sure to bring in all sorts of filth. -
