    Hi...
I'm just looking for some opinions on the best video card for playing World of Warcraft at higher settings at 1280x800 resolution when on AC power, but not suck the battery down during non-game playing times, like a 7800/7900 card would. Thanks!

I would say the go 7600 or the x1600 should be able to run it at those settings. They have balance in peformance, and in power. Im planning on gettting the dv8000t from hp. It has a go 7600. Well good luck in your searches!

We could help you find a laptop if you complete the FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum.

A Go7600 or Radeon X1600 are plenty for WoW.

Even a x1400 or g0 7400 would be fine for WoW, probably max out the settings or at least get close to them, depending on the other components of course.

Like Chaz said, filling out the FAQ would be great.

I've got a E1505 with x1400 (1.86, 2GM Ram). I run at 1440x900 with everything maxed. Without "Full screen glow" I average 50-60 fps, with glow (which I suppose cranks on HDR) it drops down to 30 fps, which is still very playable.

Anyone else notice the HDR absolutely destroys the framerate on their x1400? It makes things look so good, but so slow :(.

HDR drops the framerate signifigantly even on the most powerful cards, it requires a lot of processing power. I'd only recommend enabling it if you have a high-end card.

If you lower the resolution on your E1505 that would help, but personally I'd always take a higher resolution over anything else.
