I'm using ePSXe160. Used it before on my old Dem4600 desktop running Windows XP PRO. I'm running the american version of the BIOS -- and it was loaded into the emulator. Now when I run Castlevania SOTN (or any PSX game) it is not working. Crashes. Asks me to send a report to Microsoft *clicks do not send*
I got it to work with no tweaking on my Toshiba M45 w/ MS Home. Runs perfectly.
Why isn't it running on my Sony?

Ok so I figured out a way to skip ePSXe160 (which has worked in the past).
Now I just got pSX v1.10 w/ GPU plugins + SPU Lewpy / and FF is now running at a nice fps. No sync issues here. -
Because, it's a Sony! jk...
Try http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/ this.
I dun use ePSX coz when i play it, everything runs in hyper speed.
Edit: A tad too late to reply ur post. -
Well you can check out Lewpy's3D GPU plugin which allows you to do frame limits. Also it syncs exactly well with the music.
Even w/ a C2D/7600G0, I wish there were some way to improve these classic, yet still loveable, graphics.
Here is a picture of where I'm at so far =)Attached Files:

With ePSX i could go futher than you using less time, but i ll probably die in battles since it's too quick. Get the PC version(just BT it, dun tell anyone), the quality is better than the PSX versions.
i like Cloud's character, he's so cool. -
I post a contest: Whoever beats FF7 the fastest wins!!!!
-
I ll compete with u, if i have the disc. But currently not... haha... i tried last time with 30 hours, ...
but the 1st time i played it, i was a bit freak, when i went out from the slum to shinra, i already gotten cloud's lvl 3 limit... not by hacking... but it's cool to whack rufus using meteo limit break.. woohooo... -

There are some cool openGL plugins you can get for ePSXe, ones that make it look like a comic book or other stuff. -
my current (and working) plugins for ePXS
(all settings and plugins make it exact 100% of PSX gameplay)
- i use the ePSXeCutor front end for the emulator, helps out A LOT
- GPU: P.E.Op.S Soft Driver 1.17
- SPU: Eternal SPU Plugin 1.3
(or) SPU: Pete's DSound Audio Driver 1.9
- CDR: Internal ePSXe W2K CDR
- Virtual Drive: DAEMON Tools
(to mount images from HDD, its much more efficient and faster than playing off a disc)
Note: My settings and plugins are to get as close to original PSX gameplay as possible, so no fancy AA or graphical enhancements (which dont can cause a game to not look right, if you know what i mean.)
I have dumped every BIOS version, all should work.
