I recently received the notebook below. The speaker was blown, so I'm sending it back hp is giving me some free upgrades. Should I get the P8400 and stick with my crappy Intel 4500 gpu or go with a P7350 and get the 256mb INDIVIA card? I don't do any gaming. Maybe watch a movie here and there. I just want to know which will give faster performance for the average pc user who doesn't game. Any opinions?

Dedicated will be faster, but battery life may not be as good. With no games... hmmm

If you run it off batteries often, ie take it out alot;
stick with the 4500, it's the "top of the range Intel IGP".
But if you're going to be using it 90% of the time at your desk/home/office and running it off AC power, get the dedicated cards! -

go with the nvidia GPU you can update the processor anytime you want the gpu...not so much

I'd take the P7350 + GPU combo. It holds much greater value, performance, and resale equity.

yeah i should have mentioned that dedicated GPU's DO have better resale especially if you are like me i sell my notebook every year lol

I replied to your other thread regarding this topic but I now see that you are not spending any money on these upgrades as this is done for free by HP. In that case, going with the P7350 and the GPU makes a lot more sense.

4 gb ram and 2ghz core2 processor are too good to be spoiled by low end integrated gpu. I'd say go with nvidia
Please HELP with GPU decision!
