Hello, I have an Asus a8jp. The specs are 2 ghz core 2 duo, 1 gig of ram, and an x1700 gfx card. I've been able to play cs source and other source engine steam games for a while now at good frame rates (averaging 60). But all of a sudden the frame rate capped at 20. Thinking that it was an OS problem, I did a clean vista install and everything went back to normal. But less than a day after, source began to cap the frame rate at 20 again. I have checked the fps_max, which is set at 300, and tried to reinstall drivers, but these things don't seem to work.

Does anyone have any pointers? Thanks in advance.
