    i'm planning to buy a mid-gaming laptop in two weeks time. It will be used mainly for gaming (low-mid settings only) and MS Office application, mostly MS Excel. I've found three that i think is a good deal;

    1. MSI GE60 0NC-i3145+ 3rd generation Intel® Core i3 - 3110M 2.40 GHZ | VillMan Computers
    - i3-3110M
    - GT650M GDDR5

    2. MSI GE60 ONC-i5185+ HD 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i5 - 3210M 2.50 GHZ | VillMan Computers
    - i5-3210M
    - GT650M GDDR5

    3. Acer Aspire V3-471G-736b4G1TMa Core i7-3630QM 2.40GHz,4GB DDR3,1TB,Nvidia Gforce GT 640M 2GB,Linux | VillMan Computers
    - i7-360QM
    - GT 640M DDR3

I'm a bit tight on the budget and only #1 fits my budget. Would the i3-3110M bottleneck the GT650M GDDR5?
In case i could stretch my budget for the #2 and #3, which would be the way to go? i know theres a huge gap bet i3 and i7 having 2 and 4 cores respectively, but what i don't know is how much gap theres is bet the GT640M having DDR3 and the GT650M GDDR5. is GT640M DDR3 good enough for gaming? Please help me on this.

If you more time to waste helping me, it would be really appreciated. below is website/notebook dealer in my country. maybe you help me choose a better one.

Yes, the i3 will be a bottleneck, and yes, there is a large performance gap between the 640 and 650 gddr5.

The second would be the best option out of the three, but it would help to know your budget so people can make other suggestions.

The number 2 is a clear winner. Although the CPU is way greater on the number 3...

But hey since you mention gaming I would recommend going with either 1 or 2. Even though the 640M can easily run everything on low and medium.

Not sure how this is priced in your local currency, or if there is a way to arrange for shipping overseas, but you might want to consider the lenovo Y580.

Ordering directly from lenovo there is a model with 1920x1080 display, i7-3630QM and Nvidia 660m, 1.40" thick, 6.15lbs for $999.

Also the hp dv6-7200 Quad is a good mid-range laptop and quite portable with 650m, 1920x1080 display and i7-3630QM, 1.16" thick, 5.66lbs ($1,100 from hp direct store, or with i7-3820QM it's around $1,300).

If you can find something with a 650m in it, I'd say go for it. I don't know if you could find anything better in your price range. The 650m handles most games on medium/high settings at 1080p, so it's a pretty decent gpu. I had one in my last laptop before upgrading.

Didn't read the whole post ----- posted unapplicable information. I agree with moviemarketing. If you would decide on going with overseas shipping i strongly advise you go to with johnnyair(yes I'm from the same country as OP) --- I don't work for them I'm just happy with their services since I ordered an np9150 earlier this year.

I`d go for the MSI as well, #2. #1 have a i3 CPU. You should aim for atleast i5 when you buy a new notebook since i3 is crap with everything.
Normally I`d pick the #3 since it have a Quad core that benefit you greatly in games and other tasks and you can always overclock that GT640M up and beyond GT650M, but its Acer...

It have matte screen as well and the Acer have a mirror (glossy)

#1 will be fine. dont worry about it. the 650M wont be bottlenecked by that CPU. I have a core duo (not a core 2 duo - a core duo) on my desktop and it barely bottlenecks my HD 6850. you will be absolutely fine with the i3. in gaming the only time you need to worry alot about the CPU is if you are a huge starcraft/RTS player. GPU is far more important and both 1 and 2 have the better gpu.

if you can stretch to #2 do it, but ignore number 3.
