Hello so i have recently bought a new laptop. I am having a hard time trying to figure this out. What i have noticed is that my laptop is running NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M, and i7. With that alone i should not be running minecraft with med settings and only getting 25FPS. In no ways hell. So i did more research and that this laptop has a built in integrated card hd something? Whatever that means... So does it mean it has two cards inside it? And is this common?
I have also read that people have been the same problem as i am, but i cannot find a solution. Others have said that when gaming it is running the integrated hd card and not the nvidia. Now what i would like to know is how i should i go about fixing htis? How do i go about disabling this and using my nvidia all the time?
Thanks appreciate all the future help.

Ok, is the game running via GT 750M the Nvidia control center?
Check if windows detects the gpu as well.
This happened to my 9500 GT too back in 2007/2008 lol.
Thanks. -

hey try MSI afterburner it will tell you when the DGPU is under load and what is using it

This is built in the nvidia drivers. Go to nvidia control panel, Desktop, "Display GPU activity icon in notification area"

what laptop do you have?
some laptops have the internal graphics and some dont.
you most probably have optimus. like my clevo it has a intergrated graphics chip like the HD4000 which i have which is used for everyday tasks. you then also have a Nvidia dedicated graphics card which normally kicks in as soon as you open something demanding like a game.
ive found 2 games in the last year which for some reason doesnt switch to the nvidia card. the last game being Titanfall.
all you have to do is go to your nvidia control panel (right click on desktop) and it will open on the manage 3D settings page.
in the top box (1) find your game exe from the drop down list.
in the second box (2) make sure it is set to "High performand nvidia processor" and then click Apply at the bottom.
try the game again and report back here.Attached Files:

If you only need a temporary fix you can right click on a .exe file and run with graphics processor 'high performance NVIDIA processor' it usually goes for 'integrated graphics' by default (if program is not known). But MrDJ's way is the permanent fix which I would recommend.
