    Hi,

I need some help plz. I just received my lenovo Y480 yesterday, and was pumped. After doing a few things, I decided to download 3dmark06 and 11 to see how it would bench.

In 3dmark11, I scored right around 1000 (don't remember exactly)
    In 3dmark06, I scored 9731

Compared to the benchmarks I've seen, these are quite a bit lower on a percentage basis.

I also noticed that these 3d mark programs are detecting my GPU as a GT630M!!! Like !

Has anybody heard of the autodetection doing this with the 640MLE before? Everywhere else in the system it shows it as a 640LE, except futuremark.

Do I actually have a 630M in this machine? Should I return it?

As far as the actual performance, I THINK I've done everything to turn the gfx hardware on full, but could I be missing something

Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm very distraught. :(

There are actually 2 different versions of the 640M LE which could possibly be why it is being misidentified as 630M on the futuremark software. One version has 384 Kepler cores but is clocked low and is essentially a slow 640M, while the other has 96 Fermi cores and is clocked much higher and is essentially a fast 630M. Another possibility is that it is simply too new to be on futuremarks database of GPUs. My 650M is also not recognised properly by 3DMark 11 yet.
