Save 10% on Poker Night at the Inventory on Steam

Anybody know anything about this? Just spotted it on steam when browsing about, caught my interest because my main time killing game on my phone is PokerTH a texas holdem game.

For under $5.00 with a bunch of our favorite characters I wonder exactly what it is.

Just because I couldn't resist and the stupid song was in my head (thanks to David for initial post)...

That games looks hilarious and for $4.49 you'd probably get your money's worth. I haven't played poker in a long time!

Speaking of which, does anyone know of a good Poker game for free? I like Texas Holdem but also like other variants like good old 5 card stud.

Thanks. I want a single player one because I rarely get good signal outside on my netbook unless I sit near the house, and refuse to play anything on Facebook. I only have an account so some long lost friends can find my contact info.

I went to sourceforge and found a pretty good Texas Holdem Freeware (beta, but still pretty good). You can play single player or online. I'd prefer more variety, but this will do for now.

The on mentioned in this thread looks fun though.

I am keeping my eye on it for exactly this reason. Looks like it could be great, but not enough info available to make a decision... yet. ;)

Well I figured out what it is.

Its singleplayer only and its focus is on character interaction to kind of emulate all the trash talk you and the boys may throw down on mans poker night.

So yeah interesting bunch of characters. The only one I really look forward too is the Heavy from TF2.

For $5 though it may be worth it for an occasional game to pass time. I'm also not too thrilled about the characters. I would have much rather seen more popular and fun characters like Duke Nukem, G-Man (Half-Life), Lara Croft, Kerigan (Starcraft)

Yeah I figure the cost for licensing is the big issue with getting some "cooler" characters.

Its supposed to be an experimental game type to branch off from the norm, they said if they sell XXXXXXXX amount of copies of the game that there can be a squeal.

Speaking of people I would like to see....

    - Darth Vader
    - Duke Nukem
    - King Pin
    - Beret (final fantasy 7)

    and a lot more.

The characters have to be somebody well spoken with a lot of personality due to the nature of the game. Like I cant see G-Man or even Kerigan really doing much talking or trash talking :D

What's the actual gameplay look like anyways? Do the characters do funny animations or is it just a standard poker game with licensed avatars and a trailer?
