POLL ALLOWS MULTIPLE CHOICE - so you can choose more than one.
This week there are several great titles going to be released, but none have demos. What's up with that?
Either way, a good selection coming our way.
Released week of April 5, 2009:
The Godfather 2
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor
Helldorado
DCS: Black Shark (for combat flight sim heads like myself)
Elven Legacy
Demigod (ok, next week but close enough)
-
I'm most excited for Tales of Valor.
Anything to keep COH interesting.

Elven Legacy looks really similar to the first Age of Wonders gameplay-wise, as for DemiGod the game premise sounds promising so it might be worth asking relatives to buy the game on my behalf if the reviews and gameplay deliver.
-
I enjoyed Fantasy Wars, King's Bounty and Heroes of Might and Magic V so Elven Legacy is a no-brainer for me...probably won't even wait for the reviews...
I'm torn on Demigod...Stardock is publishing it and I love everything about Stardock, but GPG's last effort (Space Siege) was incredibly disappointing...I paid full price, too, on the day it came out...tried the demo and loved it...unfortunately, like most movies...all the good stuff was in the demo (the intro movie?) and the full game didn't add much...I'm still hoping GPG offers some form of free expansion/massive patch...I'll probably wait for the review...
And I'm torn on Helldorado...Jagged Alliance in the wild, wild West with an FPS element? I'm not big on western themed games (remember Outlaws from LucasArts? Duke Nukem 3D with six shooters? At least the sound effects were identical to me...), but I really like turn-based strategy...again, probably wait for the review...or try the demo...
And Black Shark...finally...haven't seen something like that since Lock-On and IL-2 Sturmovik...and no worthy helicopter sims since Longbow 2... -

I want:
Battlefield 3
Star Wars Battlefront III
Delta Force: Angel Falls
Two of the three have yet to be announced, all with little information and no known release dates! -
And this has what to do with what?
Stay on topic! -
COH and Riddick, mainly riddick though.
-
wow, DCS looks extremely hardcore...
-
DCS is hardcore, but if you're like me, you'll love every minute of it!
-
!? Who'll be able to play DCS??

The godfather 2 is the only one of those i might get, i'd be more inclined to go for mafia 2 though if it's out when im buying. I just got The Last Remnant which is pretty good -
What I find funny is that according to another thread, I'm no longer a 'hardcore' gamer because I don't play FPSs online, and I would get crushed if I did...
However, I relish combat-oriented flight simulators like the Jane's series from EA, Flanker 2.5, IL-2 Sturmovik, and now, finally, the DCS series...
I will never be able to translocate 5 times per second in Unreal Tournament, but, in digital land, I can get an F-18 off a carrier deck, and an SU-27 Flanker back on the runway...which I think is somewhat 'hardcore'... -

Jane's FTW! I loved the Jane's sims, despite them coming from EA. It was the best simulation series ever. -
Going to look at some gameplay and reviews of riddick, I loved the first one for PC, one of my favorite games because of the storyline. It never felt repetitive and was a ton of fun.
-
I'm looking forward to Demigod. If anyone remembers Warcraft III, it looks a lot like a highspeed version of DOTA (defense of the ancients).
Let us know how DCS turns out, it looks pretty sweet. -
What I find most interesting is that nearly half of us (47%after my vote) aren't particularly excited by any of the titles listed.
Hmmm, maybe I'm not the only one after all..... -

Elven Legacy is $30...that makes it a no-brainer for me...Impulse, Steam or Best Buy is the only question now...
