    Just played Portal 1 for the first time ever. Damn it is goood!
    Damn! Good!
    I just wanted to have a look and played through in one go. Yes it is short, and yes it is not hard, but it is conceptually brilliant and really fun.

    now cake and off to bed...

    Weekend = Portal 2 rampage

    Better late than never. :)

    I remember I bought the Orange Box in 2007 just for the Half-Life 2 episodes, I didn't even play Portal or TF2 until months later...and now I have hundreds of hours logged in TF2, and I've beaten both Portal and Portal 2. :p

    I remember when I discovered Portal. It was amazing! One of the most unique and engaging games I have ever played.

    Then came Portal 2. Seriously, this has to be one of my favourite games of all time. Played through it the first time in two sittings and immediately started it again once I was done. Everything about this game was perfect, except that it actually ended...

    Believe me, you are going to have an awesome weekend! :)

    Same here. Some of my friends started with the second game and liked it so much they went back and devoured the first one and every map pack and DLC made. Hell... they even started playing the HL1 and HL2 series when I told them that the story lines intertwine. :D

    I consider Portal 2 one of the best games I've played in a long time. It was a nice change of pace from all of "cookie cutter" games that the market is filled with today.

    Man I remember when I was in the same situation as you OP. 8 months ago or something and I just thought "Maybe I should try the Portal game everyone is talking about". Was blown away too. Awesome game. And the best part was that Portal 2 came out about that time. So I had a Portal extravaganza lol. Portal 2 is much bigger so you have tons of fun there.

    Anyone who have one of those memory erase zappers they have in Men in Black? Would love to play the two games again lol :p

    I really need to get round to playing the original HL plus EP1 and 2. I've played HL2 about twice through, doesn't make sense really. HL2 on hard is a complete beast though, you get ripped to shreds.

    funky monk when I replay HL2 nowadays I only play so. HL2->Ep1->Ep2. It's so awesome. I just hope when they finally release Ep3 they will combine it into one solid SP, so that we wouldn't have to change between games. Finish HL2, Ep1 follows right after final scene and so on. Damn I love Valve :D.

    You could make a mod for it easy enough (technically it would be a seperate "game" but it's easier to call it a mod). It would just be a simple source engine program which loads the map files sequentially from their different locations.

    I know this is a huge over simplification, but it really shouldn't be too hard. Also, by "you", I just mean people in general.
