For those that do not know Portal 2 has an official date now of April 18 2011 so if its not postponed it is not far off.

Portal 2 looks like it has taken huge steps forward because no longer is it a "pack in game" its now a stand alone game title so it has much more content and dedication.

First and foremost I'll mention one super awesome new feature that I really look forward too. A co-op mode! 2 players playing at the same time on unique 2 player maps that actually require 4 active portals to complete.

You better bet I will have some kind of Portal 2 team for NBR so we can team up to take this on.

The challenges of Portal 2 look harder than Portal 1 to me so I can only imagine how difficult some of these co-op challenges could be. I also assume at some point user created maps will up the ante since it still uses the source engine, so the source sdk should still work to make new maps.

Enough talk, here are some nice videos to keep you entertained for now until the full game is released.

Portal 1 was awesome, i installed it after i completed the half life series :).. I never expected it to be soo good, that i loved this game more than any other game in the orange box.. The credits song made me both laugh and cry.. Really expecting a great sequel to this game.. :)

Im not sure if the co-op is cross platform (have not seen anything that confirms or denies it)

I know for PC users though that I have my Mumble server so we can have very good accurate voice communication to talk through the stages.

Game may have some kind of built in voice chat, but even if it does nothing really trumps mumble in latency and voice quality.

Why not ask the episode 3 team? Whats that got to do with portal?

Thats like asking the engineers working on the atom when the hell the next high end desktop CPU will be out.

EDIT : All those high-pitched "oh noes" from the robots make me sad :( But they want to kill me... :(

Eh, no. Valve keeps dedicating all their resources to TF2, L4D 1 & 2, now Portal 2. Half-Life 3 keeps being put on the back burner.

It seems rather stupid really, given that half life is their flagship series.

I'm going to lose my geek card, but I can never bring myself to finish Half-Life. Any of them. I find them boring and tired. I simply can't get into the story.

Portal, on the other hand, was pure bliss. It was different, it was clever. I can't think of any game I have enjoyed much more in recent years. I can only hope Portal 2 succeeds its predecessor well.

I cannot wait for Portal 2. The first one was great but it was more of a demo length game. Since they saw how successful and fun it was, I hope they made Portal 2 really long and challenging. The co-op mode will be fun.

Yeah I also hope it can be played just as well single player as co-op. And have a long campaign.

lol, for me its the other way around. Portal didn't impact me as much did half-life 2 did, episode 2 was my favorite! I played and finished portal due to the whole internet was refencing it like crazy everywhere and it had a catchy song at the end :D. Im only getting portal 2 just to play with my buddy on his ps3, if it wasn't for that I would have not consider purchasing the game.

Have you play half life 2 episode 2, because that was better pace than all the others.

One thing I know is that they said it has over 1300 lines of dialog this time, if that is any indication of game length it should be a pretty good sized game.

Maybe maybe not, just a lot more interaction and conversation if anything that is for sure.

This time its not just GlaDOS talking its a new computer as well so there is a lot of dialog from both of them.
