apparently ep3 is supposed to explain the missing pieces of info, such as G-man, etc. Unless VALVe will be making hl3, ep3 is supposedly the last one for the half life series.

That message to me when I read it is stating when the timer reaches 0 the final test will be revealed.

All this ARG stuff so far has been a test. And if we figure out this final test the game will come out early. But not the game will come out when this timer hits zero.

It still says "the final test" and "its up to you when I will be released"

Ha looks like I was right. "the final challenge" spend money and hope to get the game early.

Now I wonder with the people that already bought the potato sack pack, why they are not showing any credit. That would be rather lame if they dont include any purchases already made. Also maybe it would be nice to just grant early access to those with the pack.

Had a go at the DLC earlier, but died, and then the game quit (no save points in the DLC due to Valve's silly ARG thing.

Pretty decent, I must say.

Well, the end is definitely near. Thanks to the efforts of a dedicated group of ingenious test subjects, we've located enough potatoes to generate the required power to start the GLaDOS reboot process. It's not too late to participate, though. The more CPU power dedicated to the process, the faster it will finish. What does that mean? From now until release, play any or all of the Potato Sack games to expedite the launch of Portal 2. Your efforts will be tracked on the official GLaDOS@home page.

The Potato Sack games are all great, and each one has also received a massive Portal-themed update. So why not get a taste of Portal 2 now while you help launch it?

There's also still time to collect all 36 potatoes. Anyone accomplishing this feat by the time Portal 2 launches will receive a very special, non-hat-based reward.

Looks like they need ! 130,000 consecutive users online with the 13 potato sack games to launch Portal 2 early. So get on and go!

But we'll see what the valvearg says though for certain. I've seen the potato count fluctuate so it must be simultaneous users.

 

I haven't been paying attention to Portal, wasn't a big fan of the first, but yesterday my girlfriend asked me to find some co-op games we can play together and I saw a commercial with 2 robots with portal guns so I figured I would ask. No biggie.

 

I have seen a couple of videos ( not sure if I can post them here, it's kinda violent ), and the lion sooooo pwnd the tiger...

You're only saying that because you're a lion fan. If you looked at things objectively you would know 9 times out of 10 that lion is going to get straight up owned. You can watch all the videos you like it doesn't change reality.
If you want to get into videos I've seen countless videos of tigers owning grizzlies, black bears, one of a crocodile getting mauled, and of course the many many youtube vids of lions getting repeatedly owned by tigers.

Tigers are bigger, stronger and believe it or not, more naturally aggressive and fearless than the average male lion, and for those reasons are why it will and does generally win it's battles with a lion.

Now back to topic, no more talk about tigers owning lions or this thread will get closed. How much do we think portal is going to cost?

 

Silly you, of course you can! If each monior is 1080p, set the games at 1080p, distribute them arouns the screens, and ta daa!!!

 

Steam's got you there. You can't play more than one game at a time with the same account. You can play offline, but it wouldn't count. Something else squirrely is going on though because the challenge status potato count seems to keep increasing. I'm confused now (doesn't take much).

 

Portal 2 is 35€, if you pre order now, you get Portal 1 for free.

That's not a bad deal, might pre-order this, my girlfriend loves puzzle games, and playing portal 2 co-op sounds quite fun actually.

 

Yeah, co-op does sound fun. Wonder how good it will be on consoles? Split screen?

 

I think so. I don't think PC has split screen support (yet; Valve can always add this feature later).
