Cave J. is dead, died from moon dust poisoning. So before he passed away, he ordered the employees to transfer Caroline to AI --> GLaDOS.

There is also a theory that Chell's daughter of the two. There is another theory that C.J is not dead but is in cryopreservation room just like how Chell was.

I am still up for it. Besides the Prof. Portal thing, I am in the same boat as you for achievements!

 

I may be up for it when this game finishes downloading, or whenever Wingnut's backup disks get here, whichever is sooner. As it is, he mailed them last Wednesday and I still haven't gotten them, and the game is 80% downloaded.

Thank you super speedy snail mail... We are all of a three hour drive from each other, yet it takes five days (assuming he gets the discs Monday) to get there. Sheesh.

 

It's the cost of gas, they do not drive packages from one destination to another anymore. They walk them.

Where's that real-world portal machine when we need it?

 

We lost it, some goof in Japan shot a portal on the surface of the moon, and well you see what happened. It's almost a bad as dividing by zero.

Now excuse me for a moment, I am going to go enjoy my hot cup of moon dust tea.

 

I hear it can make you immortal, or just open a portal in your belly.

If you're still up for it I may have to do a playthrough with you Vicious, otherwise I'll never get around to co-op!

 

Speaking of co-op, just ran Hakira tonight though it and we had some mad fun despite doing it all with in-game text chat as the source of communication. That being said, I still need Professor Portal... :| and more sleep...

Got to Chapter 8 now. Love the game. Great story and it is a lot bigger than Portal 1. Maps too. Almost too big because there are sometimes i run around thinking "where the F do i start" or "where the F is that wall i can shoot my portal to"

Anyway, it actually finished downloading on Steam, so I've been playing. You still get an A for effort, Wingnut

 

Sorry, that is... incredible to say the least. Never showed up back at my place either so it's not that it didn't have enough postage. Both your and my addresses were in big bold capital letters clearly written with a sharpie so no excuses on not reading it.

Just got my good microphone back from RMA, looks like the RMA is B stock :/ but it seems to be in working order.

Need to play with one of the guys I have played with already to see if they can notice the quality difference.

Anyways I am at work like 3 hours early doing a 13 hour shift today since we had system downtime yesterday all day, so I am one day of work behind, I want to get on Thursday night for sure for some Portal 2, and Friday night shall be SC2 night.

 

Hopefully I will manage to get some time on Thursday to help out in co-op as well. I need to be up a bit early on Friday to make up some hours in the research lab...

 

Almost finished the single player.. in for co-op if anyone wants to play!

so after you beat single player and coop what else is their to do....i am not seeing very much replay value until the modders come out with stuff

Yeah thats the problem, other than just messing around on coop with friends for fun there is nothing to do.

There is going to be a SDK they say for this game, so there should be user created content down the road for it, but for good stuff to be out it will take a while.

This is why some of us are saying they need to make "games" for it and not just puzzle stages so you can play just to play.

I mean I thought of a map thats stupid simple just a floating arena (soul caliber style) and far outside of the arena are floating walls and the point is to kill the other person by trying to get a portal on one of the walls and one at your friends feet and make them fly to their death.

Maybe enhance it by adding environmental obstacles and weapons.

And I definitely agree there should be some more MP element than just the co-op (although I haven't even done that yet). Some good ol' capture the flag (or as someone else put it capture the companion cube ). And if you fall through the enemy's portal you drop the cube, or something like that. Make it 2v2 or 3v3.

 

So when is Portal 3 coming out? Next month maybe?

 

Probably never in my opinion. Don't want to spoil the lot but playing it will make people realize it is hard to generate another sequel. Now what I want instead is Episode 3...

 

Well screw the sequel and the story, atleast for Chell. I just want more maps and portals to shoot. Portal 2 was 100x better than Portal 1. Loved it

Portal 3 would likely be what Portal 2 was supposed to be: a prequal that takes place in the 50's and has no portals. They scrapped this idea for the one that the game ended up being based on.

Maybe this is why they push Priority Mail so much... seems like they've just given up on regular mail.
