Not too long ago I bought the Samsung Ativ 8 to replace my recently deceased laptop and also to do some gaming as it is gaming capable. I have recently found it that it's graphics card is in fact upgradeable and wish to upgrade, but really don't know where exactly to start. The card inside of it is a AMD Radeon HD 8870. In order to avoid any problems with compatibility I wish to upgrade to a better AMD model.

This is my laptop and it's specs.

    Samsung Ativ 8

    And my graphics card candidates.

    Radeon R9 M270X

    Radeon R9 M275X

    Radeon R9 M290X

Any advice on these or any other cards would be greatly appreciated.

Your chip is soldered so you are not able to.

The 8870M you have is quite good... The main problem is drivers, running it cool..

Do the following: Update to latest 14.12 drivers on AMD website.
For better cooling, repaste the CPU+GPU with IC Diamond/Gelid GC Extreme and get a notebook cooler or something to prop the back up :)
