    Possible to run games off an external HDD?

    Well, as you probably know, a lot of laptops don't have 500GB of HDD space. So I was thinking, If I ran out of space, would it be possible to run games off an external drive?

    yes you can but it may run slower than internal hard drive.

    Well, that would be more for load times, not actual game play, correct? Also, would using FireWire instead of USB increase the speed?

    EDIT: Another thing: would I need to install an OS on the HDD, and if so, can I use the same Vista CD as with my main HDD?

    yes and yes. you don't need to install windows on the HDD.
