Recently got Battlefield 3 but it doesn't seem to be "clicking" with me. I prefer Bad Company 2 for some reason. Due to this, I was wondering if it is possible to transfer Battlefield 3 from my account to someone else's? Could I request support to do this?
-
Nope.

Try cycling though Origin support till you find one that is willing.
You might end up going through 50 of them. -
I guess it would be easier to just sell my Origin account. It only has Battlefield 3 on it.
-
That's also illegal.
-
Its not possible to move a redeemed game to a different account, not on Origin and not on the competitiors either.
I would just play something else and give BF3 a try later once the d*bags have moved on and the games been patched. -
Yes it is possible.. that's how i moved mine!
Go ask it in live chat( in origin ). If they say it is not possible, then close the live chat and try again. You will eventually get someone to do it. They usually don't want to do it because it can get both accounts bugged. So be careful

No. Maybe against the terms of service at worst. The potential repercussions might be closing the account. Not a legal issue. -
Will it be a fresh/new game for the person receiving the game or will my progress/multiplayer unlocks also transfer?
-
Totally agree with you.
-
Okay, I misspoke, which is apparently a more heinous crime than any digital rights violation.
-
Unless expressly authorized by EA, you may not sell, buy, trade or otherwise transfer your Account or any personal access to EA Services, Content or Entitlements, including by use of auction websites.

Again, this is incorrect. However, public dissemination of misinformation is subject to scrutiny and correction. Now, both of your posts are perfect examples of that
If misspeaking was a heinous crime, and more heinous than a "digital rights" (intellectual copyright?) violation - you would be in a lot of trouble. As it stands, you merely were corrected in public on the internet. Not that bad, aye? -

Why don't you just give your account to a friend?
Is that not the obvious answer? BF3 is the only thing on it, right? -
The more I play it, the more I'm enjoying it. Looks like I'll be keeping it.
Only wish it was on Steam instead.
-
No they did not transfer unlocks or stats.
They transferred 2 games: Battlefield 3, Crysis 2.. After transferring and him telling that there was no way he can transfer stats also, he gave me limited edition bf3 and crysis 2. It is possible to transfer games, just keep trying. -
Thanks.
Better to do this through chat or e-mail? -
Its people like this that make working in Customer service an under appreciated job. Im a supervisor with a major cell phone company and you wouldn't believe how often we get customers calling in like this who dont legally deserve whatever they are wanting but figure if they kick or scream enough they'll get what they want. Its a matter of principle to me, So I dont give them jack.

@Retto
Legality is not in issue in this case... -
It actually kinda is. The ToS of the game basically state its not transferable. By someone basically ignoring this and calling/live chatting with their customer support your wasting their money forcing someone to talk to them for something they know they dont allow in the first place. Just because something is technically possible doesn't mean a person is entitled to it.

There is no criminal or civil penalty for breaking a ToS, therefore, not illegal. Violation of ToS will have the service provided cancelled is all. Violation of Law will land you in jail, fined, or both.
-

a ToS is like a contract. Breaking it could technically result in a civil penalty. They would have to sue you for monetary relief. Civil penalties never result in jail time or other penalties aside from to the damaged party.
This type of behavior is not behavior that would result in a civil penalty, regardless. -
Yea at my work worst that happens is an account gets shut down. Ive dealt with two people this year ive sent up to Management to have suspended, One was a guy who in over 2 years hadnt had to pay his monthly cell phone bill because he'd call in and demand massive credits everytime there was a balance owed on his account. Before i'd spoken to him that first day he'd talked to 30 other agents and 15 supervisors. That day alone. He refused to admit to me if a credit he'd already gotten was the credit he was asking for. Every time i'd ask why he was supposed to be getting a credit he'd say he didnt wanna talk about it anymore and that i should just give it.

Agreed
That guy is an idiot, and I totally agreed with your previous post about those type of people. I just wanted to point out it wasn't really illegal.
Good CSR's can make or break a company. Take for example your company Sprint, I used to be a customer of theirs. There customer service in the 90's early 00's left a lot to be desired, I mean a lot. Reps were extremely rude and if I disputed a charge legitimately they didn't care. They even charged me 6 months after I cancelled my service for "data usage". I hear they have been a lot better since then, but I am a happy T-Mobile customer, and have been since I left.
-
...and by ToS, you mean one-sided contract that you're forced to "agree" to if you want to rent (oh, but they say buy!) their products, that tramples all over your rights as a consumer and which has never actually been tested in court because the companies are afraid that it's unenforceable? Yeah, I don't care about that ToS.
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
No one else cares how much stock you put into the ToS you agreed to, either. It's more between you and the other party than for us. -
Well, I agree with you. But, if you think for a moment with cool head, no one puts a gun on your head to agree that piece of ToS.
ToS, by nature, will always always be one-sided for the provider's benefit and safety. It is up to you whether you want to agree or not. (In the end, 99% of people will agree without reading.)
People generally don't care about ToS until their accounts get banned or suspended.
Possible to transfer Battlefield 3 from my Origin account to someone else's?
