If I recall, there was and maybe there is a NBR Counter Strike Source clan...So, if they could form one, why not a Battlefield series?

If anyone plays Battlefield 2142 or 2, post here, and maybe we all can get together and play during this summer.

Hmm, I have Halo 2, but I don't have Vista, I have no idea why I bought that Halo 2.lol, jk. I'm getting Vista very soon.

Add pathfinder6789 to xfire if you want.

I'm Ghost_Recon23 on BF2142, my sig says it all.

like it says above it adds more realism to the game. It takes a way your cross hair+you can only enter vehicle from certain locations(back or drivers seat) and you certain vehicle requires special kits( to fly a plane you need a pilot kits ) And without squads you can do anthing (no requesting kits or setting up rally points{you can only spawn on rally points or APCs].
It also adds/tweak weapons and buildings and other loads of stuffs( its a 1.7 gb file)

Yeah its pretty realistic. you can be a civilian in the game that can only be killed by knives so if you shoot them its an automatic 120 sec spawn time(allite ROE for you). The battle can go on forever since you have to take flags in a certain order and their are plenty of tickets 600+ so the games can last forever. But since its realistic you have warm up your jets and helocpters(waiting in it for like a min or 2 for the engine/baldes to warm up or you flip over) and you can only get certain weapons(at/sniper/crewman from rally and back of APC so sometimes it difficulty if the maps has alot of armor

Whoa, that's pretty sweet! Geez, I wonder how long 1 match can go on... Does it work with BF 2 special forces, armored fury, and euro force? Cause I have the Battlefield 2 Complete Collection DVD.. So, they have project reality mods for those as well?

I dont think so. Its a mod (tus the 1.7gb file) for the orginal Bf2(you can have have both or all those installed though). I think it incorporates stuff from those editions( NVG googles/minbird/weapons/A-10 plane).

Somewhat. I dont know about v.5 but in the beta there are like 10 servers with the most of 50/64 mosts have less(in v.5 i assume their will be more). Most of the time people group up in a couple servers so in the beta there is definitely less players then in Bf2 or any of the expansions but its okay becuase most of the time i am playing on find a server and stick to that server for awhile and there usually more then enough players to have a good firefight/tank battle.

You should try playing Battlefield 2142. If you are really good at BF 2, then you'd be awesome at BF 2142. And I'll try out PR tomorrow. Does it put the mod in a separate folder, such as the folder for mods for BF 2? Or does it override?

Yes you jsut have to locate where Bf2 folder is and it will automatically put it in your mods folders. I am behind on my game buying list(hopefully when i get my new laptop it will change)I currently "game" on my bro's Desktop.

BTw look at this PR Guide(jsut covers the basic):
Basic FRIENDLY synopsis, for NEW players from BF2

Yeah 2142 only gets better as you get better, and also as you get more unlocks.

I even got the expansion for it, I think it was worth it as some of the extra unlocks are pretty nice and I had fun on the new maps.

As for Vista and Halo2 there is a patch that I have that allows it to play on XP (not multiplayer just single player for now I think, but there is a patch in the works for multiplayer too)

Im rather enjoying Halo2 single player right now, im probably about 1/2 thru it, then I'll try some multiplayer. I watched some videos of it and it looks great, reminds me of UT2004 some wich was for the longest my favorite online fps game, infact I may still prefer it to 2142 in alot of ways (esp game issues.... grrr)

Wich reminds me I need to see if I can get the 64bit OS patch for UT2004 working on Vista Ultimate x64 I always wanted to see what it looked like.

I havent played heavily in 6 months or so, but I'm easing back into it with summer arriving. I'm a decent rank (only 2-3 more unlocks to go), and might buy the expansion. I'd be happy to play with you guys on 2142 or 2 (but I hate the load times on 2). What time zone are you guys in? In game ID: Lysdexicman

I wanna play BF2/2142 when I get my new notebook.

Is it hard to get into? I'd guess the learning curve it probably pretty big right? Anything a noob can do to play with other noobs? And keep in mind this is a guy who sucked at CS 3 years ago and hasn't played any FPS since.

So what's the general consensus BF2 or 2124?

BF2 and 2142 does have a fairly steep learning curve. I was scared to play on multiplayer at first when I got 1942 back in the day. Plus, with 2142, the unlocks (which require higher rank) make you significantly better. However, there are lots of things you can still help with if you work in a group (drive transports, help cap points, heal, resupply).

Yes, BF2142 is definitely worth the play. At first I didn't like it because I was playing with my cousins (God, they get annoying). But I was starting on very low player-count servers (25 and below). I LOVE the 64 man servers where a lot of sh!t goes on. Though, I haven't played it for about a couple of weeks due to the fact that I became re-addicated to CS:S. Go figure.

Agreed, the graphics in 2142 are smoother and there is less choppiness. There is a bit less detail though in the terrain (no trees or brush). I also love the load times (around a minute in 2142 compared to 5-10 min in BF2 ).

Battlefield 2 is a lot different than BF 2142. There are alot of glitches in the game, and a lot of people grenade spam at maps such as Strike At Karkand. It's really cheap, and really annoying. Such n00bs.lol

I would say the vehicles. There are more and they have different abilities/functions. The terrain DOES not at all look better in BF2 than 2142. The bloom effect in 2142 is what wins it.

    Mike.
