The time has come to move on from our oh so loved 3DMark06, for more than a year now any high end system was treating it as more of a cpu benchmark than a game/performance benchmark due to its low resolution and low demand on newer high end graphics cards.
So that said, Vantage is not widely used and unlike 3DMark06 most people do not understand what the scores mean, so thats why we need a thread like this to compare scores against other systems to see just where you stand.
The greatest thing about Vantage is that each test (Performance, High, Extreme) is based on a set resolution, so there is no more mix & match in scores like there was 06.
If you don't know what I mean I'll explain the default resolution for 06 was 1280x1024 but if your screen did not have enough pixels to run that it would run in a lower resolution and still give a score. people would post those scores and compare them against others unfairly because the benchmark was not run at the proper default resolution.
Now in Vantage the scores will read as PXXXX HXXXX EXXXX the first letter represents what test was run, so when you compare your score you know your comparing it to somebody that ran the exact same test & resolution you did.
So to start us off my new Asus W90VP-A1 has these scores:
Performance: P10451
High: H7427
From W90 Benchmarks Those are not stock W90 scores, I overclocked the cpu to 2.75ghz and the video cards to 610/955
From W90 Benchmarks
I dont mind friendly competition but this is a thread to share scores more than compete for first place.

Can't even run a P-score thanks to my primary display not hitting 1280x1024.
So my only score is an E-score in sig (with GeForce PhysX enabled). -

Remember you can always use external displays to run higher test than your actual laptop screen can handle.

Geez...when did I miss the release of the 4870m? When did THAT happen?!!
EDIT: Will report back with Vantage Scores. -
-
I heard Nvidia cards with physix on will get unfair and unreal performance advantage on CPU score or something like that, but I don't remember where I heard that haha. I am not sure if the increased CPU score will result in increased overal score as much as in 3dmark06 but I just thought I should mention it
I will download and give it a go laterbut I sure don't expect much of a score compared to W90 and other awesome dual high end cards
So I should sell mine and get a W90 eh?I am really thinking about it, but I don't have the money for now haha

Whats teh difference between the free 3dmark, the basic and the advanced?
I know its prolly dumb question, but jw -
Hey Guys I have Sony Vaio Laptop:
CPU: T9800 Core2Duo 2.93 GHz
GPU: 9600M GT
RAM: 4096 DDR2 800Mhz
HDD: WD 500GB 5400rpm
Windows 7
and ...
THESE HORRIBLE RESULTS !!!
Can somebody tell me why ??
-
-
-
and because its weak graphic i will have even rubbish cpu score?
-
-
Your cpu is dual core.. it has the limitation on cpu benchmarking..
Quad does better on cpu benchmarking.
And yes..9600gt isn't strong card.. but not rubbish either.
Your T9800 is a great cpu however.
Try update your GPU driver and overclock your GPU using ntune 6.03
also try overclock your CPU using SetFSB. -
I have latest gpu drivers:
182.50_geforce_winvista_64bit_english_whql (modified)
and as you can see on my cpu-z there is multiplier and there is (6-11) which means its automaticly underclocking like stupid from 2.93 to 1.5GHz ... dunno why quickly swapping 2.93 -1.5 then back ... multiplier it's not fix ..
thanks for that programs I'll try them but am not overclocker dont want to knackered something
I have this orig in control panel for GPU: never used it
and this for CPU but I celected one of function and blue screen appeared! :O DANGEROUS soft !

so if I swap his graphic with mine(I mean if I have his gpu) will be cpu result higher after test?
Don't say P9500 is better than T9800 -
I'm not expert in 3dmark, and you are right, a t9800 is better, but short answer... probably

I think these futuremark all is CRAP !
I have installed Crysis warhead and settings are on gamer
resolution on 1024*768
shaders set on low and game run without problems
I can nicely play it !!
and these testing s are only for make money !
Its made to make ours machines :
→ grit
→ groats
→ scrap material
→ scrap-iron
And Force us to buy expensiest cpus and gpus
s!
People Dont belive futuremark bulls ! -
The benchmarks are based on notebooks and desktops, so the average is going to be higher than most laptops out there since desktops are significantly more powerful. You have a Medium/high level processor with a medium gpu, so your scores are not going to be very good. Also any quad processor is going to out perform yours on a benchmark because 3dmark can utilize all the cores (which doesn't always translate to real game performance because not all games are utilizing 4 cores yet). -
Just look at the their website futuremark man :
GET IT GET IT GET IT GET IT GET IT
Like crazy
this is just only marketing tool that's it ..
I can picked up game on there to check if i can run it and their result says NO! what a bull ... all selected games ran good ...when I was playing them ..
I was saying about Crysis warhead ...
They made game playable not notplayable and still look perfect graphic
that graphic in 3d vantage is total sit ... its no sense
test should be look different not like this .. -
If you don't like someone's product don't use it. But unless it's causing harm to your computer keep your negative comments to yourself. The reason you can run those games is because you're running them at an awful resolution. It's a benchmark, simply that. It's saying how good your computer is to other peoples hardware. Your video card can't compare to any of the new ones released for notebooks, let alone anything even near high end for desktops, that's all the program is telling you. If you don't like it that's your problem, but don't go telling everyone else that 3dmark is a conspiracy working for the gpu companies to get you to buy their latest stuff.

awful resolution ?? haha hey man u really dont now nothing about it really
do u think when u change resolution u will see any difference ??
do u know what resolution PS3 using ?? maximum is 1280x720 ! some games less ...
its for small boys like u they think: i must put there biggest resoliution and i will be big man ..
I really dont see any diff. between resolutions in games only that big res. causing flickering and freezing games
it's wise when I put full details and resolution smaller
awful will be when u set low details and stupidly big resolution
think man ..
with setting big resol. u will not make huge diff.
1024*748 standard to make run game fluently on slower machines .. max what i can afford is 1280*720 (16:9) but i will not set it because results are the same as with 1024*768 res.
of course i will not go under that above .. that res is awful -
you do realize that some people have larger resolution screens right? and some games don't look that good when not used at native resolution -
The res is awful because that's not what your monitor is spec'd for. My monitor is spec'd for 1900x1200 and that's what I plan to play at, which is much more gpu intensive than your 1024x768

I played Crysis warhead on my 7811fx and I tried 1024x768 to 1920x1200..
1024x768 looked like crap..almost like playstaion 1 graphics..haha.. 1920x1200 looked awesome because I was playing at native resolution..
And comment about 3dmarks..
It's a handy program to test your new computers or hardwares..
It's a fun FREE program to test your machines.. -
