Just an observation, but did you ever notice that in almost every post where someone has a computer problem, most of the suggestions are to update the video drivers?
I wouldn't be surprised if after posting about spilling tea into their laptop, someone suggests updating the drivers to fix it.

Maybe an "update your drivers before asking for help" sticky should be made......

when people have problems, they need help asap. If you post everything in one thread, people either ignore it (due to overflow of other's posts) or they don't post for days (as they're not used to looking at stickies....)

So it would be horrible to make one thread for problems...

No, I didn't mean only have one thread for problems, just a sticky (it could be "locked") stating to update your drivers (and see if that fixes the problem) before posting for help, as it seems that nearly every "problem" thread here is driver related.

That actually wouldn't be a half bad idea. Good place to start. Just link them to Chaz's post on how to do it.

As often as people do suggest a driver change, it seldom fixes the problems. In fact, it seems that suggesting a driver change to someone who isn't familiar with the process further complicates things, thus compiling another problem on top of the existing.

However, creating a sticky may help. The only thing about the stickies in which is quite apparent is people tend to overlook or ignore the stickies all together. Who wants to look through 100+ pages of material in search of an answer in which may not be there in the first place? As much as it may help to solve a few problems, I'm not sure it would result in a drastic change in the long run. People just need to start utilizing the "search" feature. :)
